He knew where Feger had broken out, and he knew they did not have much time.
The sounds of battle clearly guided the warriors toward the direction of their assault.
"This is Ragnar. If you are not near the church, hold your current position and defend against any possible attack."
As he advanced, he did not forget to roar into his communicator.
"Boys, hold here."
He raised a fist and pointed toward a stretch of ruined buildings that looked capable of providing decent cover.
"Ulrik, I want you to lead four other recruits through that building and seize a firing position up high. Do not open fire until I give the order, understood?"
"Understood."
Ulrik answered. The recruit had been remarkably obedient; perhaps he was growing into a true Green Devil.
"The rest of you, follow me."
Ragnar waved them onward.
The squad kept concealed as they moved through the rubble and piles of broken stone toward the battlefield.
He could see that the Orks had already surrounded Feger and his few remaining soldiers. The Kommandoz fired at the Green Devils without restraint, their own men occasionally caught in the barrage as well.
One Ork gripped a banner emblazoned with the crude symbol of their primitive god. It was clearly no ordinary standard: a white Ork skull stood against the green cloth.
From his past combat experience, Ragnar had rarely seen Kommandoz carry battle standards.
Yet they had brought one today. There had to be a special reason, perhaps it was important intelligence.
Maniacal laughter echoed over the battlefield, centered around that banner.
