"You don't look very happy."
Guk stood at the edge of the platform extending from Diamond. With the grand battlefield behind him, he looked exceptionally excited.
Shells struck Diamond's energy shield from time to time, yet they barely caused a ripple.
Thanks to its height, the white Diamond could cross the Sikasen River directly from the Cadillon ferry crossing. Behind it trailed two lines of pontoons linked by iron chains, followed by speedboats specially built by the Mekboyz. They connected the pontoons together, forming a broad floating bridge.
On one side of the riverbank, the fully equipped Guards waited quietly for the moment the pontoon bridge was completed.
With Diamond shielding them, enemy fire could scarcely interfere with the Mekboyz' work, and the bridge went up smoothly.
For the first three waves of attacks, Guk had not deployed a single legion.
Thus, the lads involved in the early assaults were almost all unaffiliated warbands from the Essex Great Plains—if the humans had known that, perhaps they would have made the right response sooner.
Such as retreating in time.
But once the Ork vanguard's momentum had gradually been worn down by the humans' fortifications and firepower, the humans gained false hope—and that hope led them into even deeper despair.
Guk was about to cross the river.
"What a fine day!"
Even the thunder of the cannons could barely drown out his voice.
Above the platform was a vast flight deck, where rows of gyrocraft hung overhead, ready to deploy at any moment.
These machines were products of Arkham Mekboyz, and they had been invented even before jet fighters. Originally modified from motorcycles, they were mainly transportation for Mekboyz, before gradually developing into firefighting vehicles.
At first, some lads had tried to turn them into weapons, but their slow speed—compared with fixed-wing
