As a group of terrified farmers wailed and fell to the ground, Higaro leaped into a shelter.
Something was chasing them. It stood taller than a grown man and ran forward while swinging the weapon in its hand.
Its serrated battle blade raked across the screaming farmers, gutting one of them in a single stroke while its second weapon greedily clawed at another.
They moved incredibly fast...
The Orks that emerged from the smoke herded the farmers together like livestock. They roared and shouted, making it hard to imagine how they had crept silently into the farm.
Clatter~!
Two motorcycles burst from the black smoke rising from burning fuel. Their hulls were lined with sharpened teeth, their engines hissed, and their massive wheels rattled.
The Speed Freeks atop them howled as they viciously plowed through the crowd, tearing the panicked people to pieces.
The monstrous image of those two motorcycles was seared deep into Higaro's mind.
For the rest of his life, he would never forget the miserable screams of the slaughtered farmers and their families.
And that horrifying memory would not last much longer.
Through the smoke, the sergeant saw an Ork busily chopping apart a truck. He broke into a run, charging toward one of the cargo-laden trucks parked at the edge of the residential area.
Binel lay behind the wheel, dead.
Higaro knew it was Binel because a portable radio set was still hanging from the corpse, even though his head was nowhere to be seen.
He tore the radio from the body and climbed into the truck's cab.
It took him a while to find the emergency channel.
