Kaoreish backhanded the Blood-Worship Cult high-ranking disciple across the face with his gloved palm, startling the man awake.

He had been captured a day earlier and brought before Guk.

But he had kept his mouth shut throughout. Guk hoped to pry some useful information from him, so he had Kaoreish handle the job.

"Where were we?"

Kaoreish spread the forceps embedded in the wound on the man's shoulder, tearing open the scab that had formed over the few hours since the last interrogation.

The cultist answered with a scream. Just as he seemed about to pass out from the pain again, Kaoreish drove a syringe into the side of his neck and depressed the plunger.

"What is he... doing to me?"

The thirty-year-old man's eyes seemed fixed on the ceiling of the cell, as though someone else were present in the room.

"'He' is making sure you stay awake for the next phase of questioning. I don't want you passing out from the pain, and I promise you, there'll be plenty more of it."

The blue-faced man smiled as blood ran onto his lips.

"Pain? He thinks he knows what that word means."

The blood-covered prisoner laughed again and stared at Kaoreish.

"Let me down from here, and I'll show you what pain really means, you Wendigo Church bastard. You know nothing about torture. Your methods make me sick. You can't even—"

He rattled the chains binding him to the interrogation room wall. Even if he had not been weakened by days of torture, even the strongest Ork would have been securely restrained by those chains. They had proven highly effective in countless previous interrogations.
