Although Chu Xiao Yue was usually rather "silent," from Xu Zhi's observations, she was not naturally taciturn or withdrawn. If anything, she seemed more like she had entered "power-saving mode."
After leaving power-saving mode, Chu Xiao Yue still did not talk much, but she did not cut corners on what needed to be said or done.
As the only one among them with experience entering the Lost Land, she briefly explained their strange condition to her teammates.
"The Lost Land holds a natural Temptation for the transcendent. Just now, did you feel as though your bodies were light, like you wanted to fly?"
"That is one form of Temptation, and only the mildest kind. The longer you stay in the Lost Land, the stronger the sensation becomes. In severe cases, you may feel like shedding your heavy shell and enjoying the weightlessness of being nothing but a soul. Once you truly sink into that feeling and decide to do it, you're dead."
Chu Xiao Yue warned, "I can't possibly notice in time whenever something is wrong with each of you. Remember how that felt just now. If it happens again, you need to snap yourselves out of it."
"There are plenty of ways. The simplest is to slap yourself, or inflict some other pain. Pain will ground you. If you find that you barely feel pain anymore, say so immediately."
"We must call the teachers right away and have them send you out."
The group nodded solemnly. They were still students, not at the point where their lifespans had run out and they had no choice but to advance or die. There was no need to remain in the Lost Land just for advancement. Naturally, they knew when to press on and when to retreat.
