[Freedom City]
A very unusual city. It had no subordinate cities, and its territory was far smaller than that of other cities. In the beginning, it had merely been a "refugee city."
No one knew how, but some merchant guilds gradually began trying to sell supplies to these refugees and squeeze out their last bit of value. Other guilds saw this and joined in, so more and more merchant guilds came here. Because of the "monopolies" in other cities, quite a few outsiders also chose to trade in Freedom City.
There was more than one major conglomerate in this world, but every city had only one conglomerate holding a monopoly. Freedom City was different. No city lord would strike a deal with anyone to support a monopoly. Anyone could do business here, and over time, it became a commercial city of freedom without taboos.
Freedom City's "officials" had originally been just a group of gathered refugees. Even though they had become "nobles" by now, compared to other major cities, they still lacked confidence. Which also meant they were easy to manipulate.
The League had initially chosen [Freedom City] because the city was sufficiently "neutral," and the tournament committee could communicate more easily with [Freedom City]'s administrators and take over part of their authority during the League.
After a long period of development, because of the League's status and the power of the tournament organizing committee, [Freedom City] could now be called [League City].
Especially during the League, the flow of people through [Freedom City] would surge dramatically, and all kinds of commercial activities naturally emerged one after another.
Quite a few streamers had already arrived in [Freedom City] early, because over the next two days, the various seeded finalist teams would be arriving in [Freedom City] as required.
