Resonating with Mansus was no easy task, but fortunately, Xu Zhi's supernatural rank and affinity were now high enough. As her resonance with Mansus deepened, she gradually saw strands of lit-up "threads," like silk on a loom and like the branches of the World Tree.
Thread after thread formed a vast torrent. Xu Zhi stared into it, feeling as though she had become incomparably tiny.
And at the end of that torrent was where Radiance resided.
Her senses were overloaded. Xu Zhi even experienced the long-forgotten sensation of "suffocation." She no longer needed to breathe air at all, and so when she sensed someone else's presence trying to approach her, the sensory overload made her react in the most extreme way possible. Without a word, she attacked the intruder.
Frenzied wind swept up blazing fire, and gray flames swallowed the intruder's body in an instant. The other party was clearly caught off guard by Xu Zhi's direct approach and struggled with the flames for quite some time before extinguishing them. Yet, to demonstrate her "friendliness," she did not show hostility toward Xu Zhi for attacking without a word. Instead, she spoke amiably.
"Why are you trying to fight the moment you see me this time?"
The moment Xu Zhi noticed another person's presence, she had severed the resonance herself. By now, she had recovered from the sensory overload. Hearing the visitor's tone, she found it vaguely familiar.
"Lamp?"
She narrowed her eyes as she asked.
The other party nodded. "Though this is only an avatar, you can regard it as me."
"What do you mean, 'this time'? That previous agent... was that you?!"
Xu Zhi keenly caught the hidden meaning in her words and immediately understood what she was trying to convey.
That agent had been her?
[Lamp] smiled faintly
