Gods had no fleshly bodies and found it difficult to feel pain. Unless an injury struck at their very essence, even seemingly severe wounds were little more than an itch.

Though the gods on this battlefield of the final battle looked more wretched than ever before, they had not felt much "pain."

Until now, [Moth] finally experienced a long-forgotten sensation.

It had nearly forgotten its own "identity." Its towering body, originally composed of pure rules and energy, curled up in pain. Nearly out of its mind, it tried to reach up and pull out the branches growing from its head, but the instant it exerted force, its face twisted before it immediately released its grip. For that brief moment, it thought it was about to pull its "brain" out along with the branches.

Only after letting go did it belatedly realize that it no longer possessed a biological structure like a "brain." The sensation of nearly ripping its brain out with the branches had merely been an illusion. It should not have let go. The branches had grown even more luxuriantly, nearly wrapping its entire head. It could feel them stealing its vitality. It had to pull them out!

The instant that thought arose, [Moth] acted.

Ordinarily, it would have been more cautious, but today was different. The battle could change in an instant, and it had no time to think. More importantly, the "influence" lingering in its mind was trying to make it hesitant and cowardly. So [Moth] silently decided that the moment it had an idea, it would act on it immediately. It could not give "hesitation" a chance to arise.

That was why it reached out without restraint, using all its strength—even its supernatural abilities—to try to rip out the branches rooted in its head.
