The leader of the Mountain People before him was indeed powerful, formidable even among Level 2 Lifeforms.

The Level 2 slave creatures that had stood motionless like statues sprang into action. A giant ape covered in bone armor, with a single horn on its head, leaped in front of Duke.
A two-headed Gray Wolf that breathed sulfurous fumes also lunged forward, its heads roaring as it attacked from both sides.

This was Catherine's arrangement as well. She clearly believed that two Level 2 slave creatures were enough to deal with the Mountain People's leader.
Catherine also moved to the front. She needed to keep an eye on the leader of the Mountain People and deny him any chance to attack the other wizards.
The Mountain People's leader's enormous axe collided violently with bone claws and wolf fangs, unleashing tremendous blasts of energy that shattered the surrounding rocks.

He glanced back at the earthshaking battle, feeling somewhat reassured.
