"Sir, my name is Jim. I'm the communications officer aboard the ship." The little goblin bowed to An Li.
He wore a protective suit cleaner than the other goblins', and his mask had been polished until it gleamed, revealing a sharp little face and a pair of constantly darting eyes.
"Whatever you want to know, sir, just ask. I know everything about Goblin World."
An Li glanced at him.
Since she was bored anyway, she might as well learn about these little fellows' lives.
"What do you usually do?"
Jim opened his notebook and picked up a pen. "Do you mean work or entertainment, sir?"
"Tell me about both."
Jim cleared his throat.
"We goblins work eight hours a day. We build machines in factories, grow crops in the fields, and conduct research in laboratories."
"After work, we go home and watch television. There are lots of good programs on TV: news, dramas, variety shows, and cartoons."
An Li's eyes lit up.
"What's television?"
Jim froze for a moment.
"Television is... a box that can play images and sound."
"The news lets you see things happening all over the world. Dramas let you watch actors perform. Variety shows let you watch goblins play games."
"What about cartoons?"
"Cartoons are stories from fairy tales. Children like watching them."
An Li's mouth fell slightly open.
"You goblins are amazing. You can invent such interesting things."
Jim scratched his head.
"You're too kind, sir. It's all the power of technology. Only after generations of scientists researching it could we have the lives we do now."
An Li crouched down until she was eye level with Jim.
"What do you goblins eat? Do you have anything tasty?"
