"Yes.
"Once the sprite is born, General Deli's descendant can bring the sprite to see me, and I will accept it."
She paused as she spoke.
"Also, remember to bring a contract that can be witnessed by the Sanctuary Will.
"That way, will General Deli be satisfied?"
At that,
General Deli let out the laugh unique to the strong,
then replied in a satisfied tone.
"Of course. Of course I'm satisfied."
After saying that,
he looked at the Rose Marquis. "Then, Rose Marquis,
this general shall take his leave."
The Rose Marquis nodded slightly and opened a gap in the airship's barrier. General Deli flew out of the airship,
landing atop the dragon's head.
The dragon then spread its wings and flew into the distance.
After they had flown far away,
the Rose Marquis asked softly, "Little Wayne,
did you never consider refusing?"
Wayne shook his head slightly. "Was there even room to refuse?
"Besides,
it doesn't harm my own interests, and there are no downsides for me.
"In this situation,
I can gain a sprite. As they say, one step ahead means every step ahead. With a sprite by my side,
I imagine
gaining followers will be much easier for me."
The Rose Marquis nodded slightly.
"Not bad. You see things very clearly.
"As for the spot General Deli mentioned, compared to the sprite you gain,
it's hard to say who profits and who loses. You'll understand once you embark upon the path of a wizard."
She paused.
"However, your sister is even more curious.
"Little Wayne,
why didn't you agree on the spot?"
Hearing that,
Wayne chuckled. "Sister, anything anyone in this world promises you,
as long as you cannot make the decision yourself,
is never absolutely guaranteed. Besides, I already had General Deli use the Sanctuary Will to witness the contract when the time comes.
"I believe he is very satisfied as well."
As his words fell,
the Rose Marquis revealed a faint smile.
"You are more mature than your sister imagined."
As her words fell,
a majestic voice suddenly resounded across the sky.
"Airships arriving from all regions, please land in an orderly manner at East Gate Square.
"Students, prepare to choose your enrollment."
Hearing that,
the Rose Marquis willed it, and the airship descended toward the enormous square to the left of the East Gate.
Once the airship had steadied,
a staircase slowly unfolded from the left side of the deck.
Watching everyone disembark in an orderly fashion,
the Rose Marquis spoke softly. "Little Wayne, from here on,
you will have to rely on yourself."
Wayne nodded slightly.
The Rose Marquis had already told him as much.
Before he could say anything more,
Wayne felt himself rise into the air and descend downward.
Wayne was not panicked.
After landing before the stairs beneath the airship, Wayne did not leave immediately. Instead, he looked up toward
where the Rose Marquis stood,
clenched one hand into a fist and placed it over his chest in salute. Only then did he turn and head down the stairs.
Watching Wayne's departing figure,
the Rose Marquis smiled. "What a lovable little fellow.
"Do your best.
"Your road is still long."
Wayne walked into the square. Everywhere he looked were people his own age, along with quite a few recruitment offices.
Naturally,
they all belonged to the three major academies, though each had many different branches,
such as wood-element wizards
and fire-element knights.
Only the Lord Wizard Academy had a massive recruitment site all to itself, located at the very back and occupying an entire row.
Wayne's goal was clear.
He headed straight toward the innermost area.
A quarter of an hour later,
Wayne arrived at the Lord Wizard Academy recruitment site.
Standing at the entrance were knights:
a squad of male knights and a squad of female knights standing opposite each other, leaving only a passage between them leading into the recruitment site.
Seeing this,
Wayne silently guessed that Lord Wizards and their followers were likely responsible for receiving new students.
However, before long,
a sign standing nearby caught Wayne's attention. He walked over and saw the requirements written upon it.
Lord Wizard Academy Recruitment Site.
[At least one of spiritual power or elemental affinity must be of top-tier talent.
[Otherwise, do not disturb.]
Seeing this, Wayne finally understood why every other recruitment site was packed to the brim,
while the largest recruitment site of the Lord Wizard Academy
was so deserted.
After reading it, Wayne turned and walked over to the two lines of knights,
passing between them.
The knights did not stop him. After all, anyone with half a brain—and they had seen it with their own eyes—
knew that Wayne had gone to read the requirements on the recruitment sign.
If he had still come after that,
then it meant he qualified and was allowed in.
Seeing that,
Wayne did not hesitate any longer. He turned and entered the recruitment hall. As soon as he stepped inside,
he saw a young man and woman seated
on the left and right respectively, neither of whom spoke at first.
The young woman on the left spoke first.
"Junior, may I ask your name?"
"Wayne."
"Wayne?"
After repeating the name as a question, she began searching through the documents on the table. But then the man on the right spoke.
"Don't look.
"This junior's file is with me."
As he spoke, he stood up.
Seeing that, the woman across from him curled her lip. "What good luck."
The young man chuckled.
"That's called coming early not being as good as coming at the right time. You chose it yourself."
After saying that,
he turned to Wayne.
"Junior Wayne, let me introduce myself. I am a third-year student of the Lord Wizard Academy.
"My name is Wright.
"Next, I will lead you to the academy to complete your new student registration."
Wayne nodded slightly.
"Then I'll trouble you, Senior Wright."
Wright nodded.
"Follow me."
Wayne followed Wright to the center of the great hall, where there was a massive teleportation array.
"Junior Wayne,
this is the Lord Wizard Academy's exclusive teleportation array. The formation connects to the center of the Lord Wizard Academy.
"In the future, if you want to go to any of the east, south, west, or north gates, you can travel there directly through the teleportation array."
As he spoke,
he led Wayne to the center of the teleportation array.
Before Wayne could react,
the badge on Wright's chest flashed with light. The teleportation array activated,
and as a wave of dizziness struck,
the two vanished from the array.
A moment later,
Wayne opened his eyes again and found himself at the center of another enormous teleportation array, while Wright stood nearby,
waiting with an amused expression.
"Junior, not feeling so good, are you?"
Wayne rubbed his brow while silently complaining about Wright's childish sense of humor.
At that moment,
Wright led Wayne outside, introducing the place as they walked.
"Don't worry. Every new student goes through this.
"Once you receive your academy badge,
you won't feel dizzy when using it again."
As he spoke,
Wright did not stop until they were some distance from the enormous teleportation array. He pointed to the four massive passageways extending from the square.
"These four teleportation passages, starting from the easternmost one, lead respectively to
the Teaching District,
the Dormitory District,
the Canteen District,
and the Academic Affairs District."
Wayne nodded slightly. Then Wright led him toward the northern passage, speaking as they walked.
"Next, we will head to the Academic Affairs District
to receive your academy badge.
"Within the Lord Wizard Academy, only after receiving a badge can you be considered to have a place here. The badge can do
almost anything within the academy.
"Whether it is maps, inquiries, or any other issues you encounter within the academy,
you can find answers to almost all of them through it."
