A careless moment had stirred up old memories. Gemini stroked Hedwig as he gazed quietly at the desolate fields beyond the window.
With a clatter, the compartment door slid open. Hermione appeared in the doorway, panting hard, startling Hedwig.
"Phew... Gemini, hurry, find somewhere to hide!" Hermione rushed to Gemini's side. "When I was looking for Trevor just now, I heard some passing students say that the older Slytherin students were coming to cause you trouble. There are a lot of them. Hurry up and hide."
"Such a good thing?" Gemini blinked, completely unmoved by Hermione's suggestion.
"What?" Hermione planted her hands on her hips and glared at Gemini angrily. "I rushed over here ahead of them because I was so worried, and you're saying this is a good thing?"
As the two spoke, a burst of noisy voices rose from the corridor outside. The door to the neighboring compartment opened, and the voices carried into theirs.
"We're looking for a first-year named Gemini Fox. Is he in your compartment?"
"If you weren't blind, you'd see that our compartment is full of girls."
Gemini rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "These upperclassmen's intelligence is honestly a little worrying."
"And you're still joking!" Hermione stamped her foot in agitation.
Crash—
The compartment door slid open. More than a dozen tall boys crowded around the entrance, their gazes sweeping over Hermione's face before settling on Gemini.
"What's your name?"
"Gemini Fox."
The air fell eerily silent for a moment. Then the dozen or so boys' expressions changed, and they all pulled out their wands and pointed them at Gemini. "That's him! Kid, come outside with us. Don't try anything funny. You've got more than a dozen wands pointed at you."
"Stop! You can't do this! He's a Hogwarts first-year. What you're doing violates school rules!" Hermione hurriedly stepped in front of Gemini, glaring at the Slytherin upperclassmen, each of whom stood a head taller than her.
"Huh? Violating school rules?" The boy at the front laughed. "The train hasn't even reached Hogwarts yet. Whether it's the start of term or the holidays, nobody cares what happens on the train. Even though first-years got dragged into it this time, there's nothing to worry about as long as nobody dies..."
"Actually, I was a little worried before," Gemini's gentle voice sounded from behind Hermione.
Hermione turned around, about to say something, but Gemini had already placed one hand on her shoulder. The little girl naturally couldn't resist his strength and was pressed straight down into her seat.
"But after hearing you say that, I can relax." Gemini stepped forward and looked at the boy with a smile. "As long as nobody dies, it's fine, right?"
"???" The boy froze for a moment.
Whoosh—
As if he had teleported, Gemini's slight figure appeared ghostlike in front of the boy. In the next instant, Gemini snatched the wand from his hand and drove a fist viciously into his jaw.
Blood sprayed, teeth flew, and the boy was sent straight into the air, smashing headfirst into the ceiling of the carriage.
Before anyone could react, Gemini vanished again. When he reappeared, he was already hanging upside down from the ceiling behind them.
He grabbed two heads and slammed them together. Blood immediately flowed, and the two boys rolled their eyes back and fainted without even letting out a groan.
Very quickly...
The corridor outside the compartment filled with screams, the sounds of cracking bones, and cries of pain. Students from other compartments slid open their doors and poked their heads out uncertainly. At the sight of the miserable state of the Slytherin students, they couldn't help covering their mouths.
Before long, the dozen or so boys had been piled into a heap. Gemini sat cross-legged on the back of the boy at the top, counting the dozen or so wands he had just confiscated.
Inside the compartment, Hermione stared with her mouth hanging open.
What had just happened was too unbelievable. Even action movies had nothing on Gemini's moves just now. No wonder he had been so fearless!
Those Slytherin students hadn't even had time to cast a spell before he took them all down.
"Fifteen wands, fifteen people. Ha~ Wonderful~" Gemini laughed happily. "Anyone want to buy back their wand? Five Galleons each."
Hermione: "..."
No one answered. Even the boy in the best condition among them could only groan miserably. The rest had all fainted. As for whether their injuries were minor or serious, that was unclear.
Two minutes later, the dozen or so Slytherin upperclassmen were hung from the ceiling by strands of spider silk. They occasionally swayed with the rocking of the train, looking as though their entire family had been wiped out. It was a terrifying sight.
"What do we do next?" Hermione asked helplessly.
"Wait." Gemini took out a spellbook and began reading.
"Wait for what?"
Hermione asked in confusion.
"If we're lucky, maybe another group will come. If we're unlucky, we can only wait until the train reaches the station."
"Your understanding of luck seems a little different from normal people's." Hermione sighed. "By the way, where's Neville?"
"Out for a walk, probably..." Gemini smiled.
The fight had caused quite a commotion after all. Before long, the corridor outside the compartment was packed with bustling students, all of them mercilessly gawking at the Slytherin upperclassmen hanging from the ceiling.
A few Slytherin students passed by during that time, but they didn't continue looking for trouble with Gemini. They merely struggled to undo the spider silk and dragged away people they knew.
Unlike the other houses, Slytherin was not entirely united. The influence, wealth, and social standing of their parents differed, as did the families they associated with. Having absorbed such things from childhood, these little snakes unconsciously divided themselves into different ranks and formed different groups.
"I'd only read about Slytherin's bad reputation in books. I never expected to see it for myself so quickly." Hermione frowned and looked at the carriage outside with disgust. "Thank goodness I'm Muggle-born. I don't have to worry about being sorted there."
As she spoke, Hermione seemed to remember something. She looked at Gemini with a hint of anticipation. "What about you? Which house do you want to be sorted into? I think Ravenclaw and Gryffindor are both pretty good."
"I think they're all good, actually." Gemini smiled and closed his spellbook. "If possible, I hope I can be sorted into Slytherin."
"Why?" Hermione looked at Gemini in disbelief.
"After I kicked that whats-his-name flying earlier, it was Professor Snape, the Slytherin head of house, who dealt with it. He said that if someone like me got sorted into Slytherin, he'd rather give up that position."
Hermione: "..."
"And look." Gemini wore a gentle smile as he pointed outside the compartment. "These are all prime cash cows. You won't find them so easily in other houses."
Hermione: "..."
"And besides, Hogwarts, A History says that the houses use a points system. When students violate school rules, their house loses points. If I'm in Slytherin and get into conflicts with them again, Professor Snape definitely won't find it easy to deduct Slytherin's points. If I'm in another house, it wouldn't be good to keep deducting points either."
Hermione was completely fucking stunned by Gemini's words!
