The Lord of Change did not turn his gaze toward the chaotic battlefield in the Warp. Instead, he was engrossed in the fragments of knowledge obtained from Yog-Sothoth, madly analyzing the nature of the Warp and the mysteries of his own divinity.
Darth Vader floated silently in the void, deep psychic energy circulating around him.
Over this period, he had gained preliminary control over this newfound power—psychic energy caused him pain, but it also granted him unprecedented strength.
He was not only Tzeentch's window into the Abyss, but also a bridge for touching psychic energy and linking reality with illusion.
And now, this bridge's mission was nearing its end.
"Perfect knowledge... a path beyond all constraints..." Tzeentch whispered soundlessly, countless traces of wisdom and madness flowing through his eyes.
He had vaguely glimpsed a way to break free from the Warp's shackles and integrate his existence into the greater structure of the Abyss.
But to accomplish that, he needed a greater and purer power of the Abyss as both "fuel" and "key."
And there happened to be a key right before him—Darth Vader himself.
This vessel had already borne sufficient power. His special resonance with the Abyss allowed him to retain his sanity without being tainted by madness. He was precisely what Tzeentch needed.
The knowledge bestowed by the One Who Was All had already been partially analyzed. Vader's value as an "information source" was nearly exhausted.
Now, he was far more appetizing "food."
A sinister scheme swiftly took shape within Tzeentch's endlessly deceitful mind.
He had no intention of directly intervening in the increasingly fierce Abyssal invasion outside. That would cost him strength, and exposing himself too early
