The flames of war in Asgard had drawn the attention of ancient beings from the depths of the universe.
Oblivion, Eternity, Infinity, Death... these abstract entities that formed the very foundations of the Marvel Universe cast their "gazes" across the barriers of dimensions, upon the starfield being consumed by corruption and destruction.
"Galan..." A thought devoid of all emotion, yet seeming to encompass the end of all things, rippled through the void. "Something is... wrong with him."
"Corruption." Another vast, steadfast thought, symbolizing the universe's spacetime itself, responded. "It is not a power native to this universe. It is distortion, erosion... from 'outside.'"
"He is becoming... 'hungry.'" A faint fluctuation stirred within the thought representing infinite possibilities. "But this hunger has been distorted, amplified. Some power within his core... is feeding on him, and also... driving him."
"A threat." Death's thought was cold and concise. "To himself, and to the balance. The corrosiveness of this 'corruption'... must be watched."
These ancient beings exchanged information not out of pity for Galan or Asgard, but out of a need to preserve the stability of the universe as a whole, as well as an instinctive wariness toward that "extradimensional power" capable of directly corrupting and controlling a cosmic entity.
Galan might not have been especially powerful among them, but the fact that his essence had been twisted so swiftly was enough to make that power worthy of caution.

Another entirely different "light" entered their perception.
From Earth's direction, a pure golden radiance carrying a distinct sense of "order" tore through space, crossed the stars at astonishing speed, and shot straight toward the battlefield of Asgard!
