The moment Felix and his squad of Primaris warriors stepped into the enormous passageway, coated in dust and strange metallic patterns, fierce Bolter fire poured from the shadows!
"Enemy attack! Take cover!" Felix's roar exploded over the comm channel.
The well-trained Primaris warriors scattered at once, using massive support pillars and metal wreckage for cover as they returned fire.
Bolts burst against the ancient metal walls, spraying dazzling sparks.
The attackers were none other than Black Legion Space Marines in jet-black power armor, marked with the eight-pointed star of Chaos! There were many of them, and they had clearly been lying in ambush, waiting for their prey to walk into the trap.
"The target is on the top level! That device!" Kai Lennos's voice cut through the gunfire. His perception through the Force pointed clearly toward the top of the fortress. There, vast and dangerous energy was gathering wildly, releasing a terrifying hum. It was the superweapon Obi-Wan had foreseen—the Void Claw!
What made Felix's pupils contract even more was that amid the Black Legion's firepower, he caught sight of another force—figures clad in dark green power armor!
Though the surroundings were dim, that distinctive paint scheme and those armor details... Dark Angels?!
"Damn it! Dark Angels?!" Alarm bells rang in Felix's mind, and fury surged through him. "They're actually working with the Black Legion?!"
Thinking of the furtive, unusually tense Dark Angels scouting squad outside the fortress, he understood at once—the squad had not been friendly sentries at all. They had been keeping watch for their accomplices inside the fortress! They had warned the Black Legion of Felix's arrival, allowing them to set this ambush!
