Work Review: After Lu Chi saved a damsel in distress, someone knocked him out on his way home from school. When he woke up, Lu Chi was stunned to discover that he could always dream of strange, inexplicable scenes: questions on exam papers, a team celebrating on television while holding the Hercules Cup, red-and-green trend charts on a computer screen, lottery numbers announced on the evening news, a subway map marked with place names... When the sixteen-year-old realized the astonishing value hidden behind these fragmented "visions," the script for a winner in life began.
The writing flowed smoothly, and the protagonist's cheat ability was immensely powerful. Continuing the author's signature satisfying power-up style, it vividly told the story of a country boy striving to become the king of capital. Along the way, childhood friends and like-minded companions accompanied the protagonist as he grew.

[How a Male God Was Forged]
Chapter 1
In the early summer evening, magnificent sunset clouds dyed the entire sky red. A cool breeze mixed with car exhaust rushed toward him. The pedestrians gathered on both sides of the road were elegantly dressed but cold-faced. Every so often, they lowered their heads to glance at the watches on their wrists, their every gesture brimming with the detached indifference unique to a big city.
The light turned green, and Lu Chi followed the surging crowd swiftly across the crosswalk. The moment one foot stepped onto the curb across the street, the flashing yellow light turned red. Behind him came another burst of even more piercing horns. Cars lined up in several long queues at the intersection roared past, and in an instant, it was as if someone had hit fast-forward on a frozen image.
Lu Chi looked back at the stream of traffic rushing by, then quickened his pace and moved closer to the wall beside the sidewalk. Towering skyscrapers rose one after another, their bottom two or three floors mostly occupied by rows of lavishly decorated luxury stores. It was evening, and the display-window glass shone brightly enough to reflect people clearly. Crystal chandeliers inside the shops cast dreamlike light. Through the warm yellow glow, Lu Chi could clearly see the mannequins and accessories in the windows, as well as the figure reflected in the glass--
It was a fifteen- or sixteen-year-old boy, tall and lean in the way northerners often were, with fair skin and deep eyes. He wore a brand-new blue-and-white school uniform and carried a black backpack. The uniform hung loosely on him, and the words "Yanda Affiliated High School" across his chest were especially clear in the reflection. Behind the boy was an endless flow of traffic. Passing pedestrians left blurred silhouettes on the glass, while waves of car horns filled his ears--the symphony unique to a big city.
Lu Chi sighed softly. He had been in Yanjing for nearly a week, but he still was not used to the fast pace and commonplace indifference unique to this big city.
Brushing past unfamiliar pedestrians, Lu Chi silently recited his English text as he walked. At the end of the sidewalk, he turned left, then turned left again at the next intersection. After walking another two hundred meters, he turned into an alley by the roadside. The farther in he went, the more remote and dim it became. By the end, there were not even any streetlights. Only the window of a small grocery store at the end of the alley spilled the white light of an incandescent bulb, making the surroundings seem even more dilapidated. To many people, such silence might have seemed frightening. But to Lu Chi, it felt more like the remote, impoverished mountain village where he had grown up. Even the slightly muddy, damp ground after the rain carried a familiar sense of comfort.
Lu Chi entered the grocery store with his backpack on. The peeling door creaked, and the old woman inside, who had been listening to the radio, stretched and looked out. When she saw Lu Chi, she immediately smiled kindly. "Oh, the top student is here again? Instant noodles again?"
Lu Chi gave a response and stopped before the counter. "Two packs of Old Yanjing Spicy Instant Noodles and one sausage."
The old woman swiftly took two packs of instant noodles and a sausage from the shelf, but she could not help muttering, "Grandma's telling you, these instant noodles may taste good, but they aren't good for you. They've got preservatives in them. Even if you like them, you can't eat too much. You need proper meals and vegetables, understand?"
Lu Chi smiled and took three yuan from his pocket, handing it over. The old woman quickly accepted the money, then took out two ten-cent coins from a biscuit tin beneath the counter and gave them to Lu Chi--that was why Lu Chi liked walking the extra distance to buy instant noodles at this little grocery store. Their Old Yanjing Spicy Instant Noodles cost ninety cents a pack, ten cents cheaper than at other small grocery stores. For two packs, that was twenty cents saved.
For those twenty cents, Lu Chi would rather walk a few extra steps after school every day than spend twenty cents more at the convenience store in his residential complex.
The old woman put Lu Chi's two packs of instant noodles and sausage into a green plastic bag. As she handed it to him, she casually asked, "Your monthly exam results should be out by now, right? How did you do?"
