Shin came to his senses and looked Kibito up and down, suspicion in his eyes.
Kibito should be able to beat Frieza at his current stage, right?
Shin was not entirely sure.
After all, Frieza's later feats had left far too terrifying an impression, especially that joke people made later on: during his final battle with Super Saiyan 1 Son Goku, Frieza only needed to do a few push-ups to defeat the protagonist?
Shin pretended to ponder while actually using his divine senses to search for Frieza's location.
Very soon.
Shin's divine senses swept across North Galaxy and settled on Frieza, who was sitting in a baby carriage.
Shin's divine senses inspected Frieza inside and out. Feeling the life energy radiating from him, Shin had only one thought... So weak!
Weak enough that Shin could crush him with a single thought!
How could such a weakling accomplish those absurd feats later on?
Shin could not figure it out no matter how much he thought about it.
He carefully sensed Kibito's life energy again. He was weak too, but compared with Frieza, the two were on completely different levels!
Shin was certain now. If Frieza at this stage encountered Kibito, Kibito could beat the shit out of him.
Shin relaxed and said to Kibito, "Fine. Go warn Frieza and tell him to restrain himself."
"Yes, Supreme Kai." Kibito replied.
Frieza Force.
Frieza looked at the pale-haired, fair-faced Kibito before him, veins bulging on his forehead.
Naturally, he would not be polite toward someone who had suddenly barged into his territory and injured so many of his subordinates. He immediately attacked.
Unfortunately, Frieza was no match for Kibito. One slap from Kibito knocked some clarity into his eyes.
Frieza covered the cheek Kibito had slapped red, gritting his teeth inwardly, yet he still had to force a smile. "Who might you be? Why did you enter my territory without cause and injure my men?"
Kibito held his head high with an arrogant expression. "My name is Kibito, servant to the Supreme Kai. Your men are currently invading the Galactic King's territory. That is a domain under the Supreme Kai's protection. Have your people leave the Galactic King's territory immediately."
"The Supreme Kai?!"
Frieza's eyes widened in shock. He had once heard from his father that there were several beings in the universe whom their family must never provoke, and the Supreme Kai was one of them.
A bead of cold sweat trickled down Frieza's forehead, and he hurriedly said, "I apologize to the Supreme Kai for my subordinates' offense. I will immediately have them withdraw from the Galactic King's territory."
At that.
Kibito gave him an arrogant look that said, You know what's good for you. "A wise decision. You had better move quickly. Do not make me come looking for you again."
After saying that, Kibito used Instant Transmission and returned to the Supreme Kai Realm.
Supreme Kai Realm.
Shin's gaze had remained fixed on the Frieza Force. Only after Kibito returned to the Supreme Kai Realm did Shin finally let out a sigh of relief.
It was not that he was cowardly. Frieza's later feats were simply too outrageous. Shin had been afraid that Frieza would lose to Kibito, suddenly start doing push-ups, and then turn around and pound Kibito into the ground...
All right, even Shin felt that sounded utterly ridiculous. But later Frieza really was that ridiculous. The sheer leap in his strength was jaw-dropping no matter how many times one saw it!
"Supreme Kai, the matter has been handled." Kibito said respectfully.
Shin nodded coolly. "Mm, I understand. You may go. Also, inform the Galactic King that he need not worry about the Frieza Force any longer, but tell him not to provoke Frieza either."
"Yes, Supreme Kai." Kibito replied.
Spring passed into autumn, and in the blink of an eye, a year had gone by.
During that year, Shin had never left the Supreme Kai Realm. He had been constantly familiarizing himself with and adapting to the miraculous powers of this body.
The more Shin learned about the Supreme Kai, the more amazed he became by the wondrous nature of a Supreme Kai's powers.
Setting aside the stats for now, the Supreme Kai's toolkit was truly absurdly extensive.
Mind reading, Instant Transmission, healing, creation, transformation, clones, paralysis, telekinesis, cosmic perception, memory control, weather manipulation, planet creation, Life Creation... and more.
As long as Shin could think of an ability, this body could accomplish it. Its toolkit was so vast that even Shin was dumbfounded.
How had such a toolkit monster ended up as a roadside nobody later on?
Oh, his stats were too low. Never mind, then!
"System, increase my potential."
"Ding. Consuming 1 Source Point. Your potential has been activated. Your current potential progress: 3.88%."
And there were the stats!
Shin felt the vast power within his body, his heart surging with excitement.
I wonder what level I'm at now? Shin wondered.
Why not take a look at the future? Shin considered.
Traveling through time was taboo among gods. Even Beerus, the God of Destruction, did not dare touch time.
But the Supreme Kai was an exception.
Because the Supreme Kai was a god of creation, whose daily work was to create planets and life. In order to know what the fruit would look like once it ripened at the moment the seeds were planted, thereby improving work efficiency, the Supreme Kai had been granted permission to travel through time.
At the mention of work, Shin blushed a little. Over the past year, he had not fulfilled any of his duties as Supreme Kai, focusing solely on improving his strength.
But on second thought, that God of Destruction slept for decades or even centuries at a time. Was it really too much for him, the Supreme Kai, to slack off for a few years?
With that thought, Shin immediately felt balanced. He no longer felt the slightest guilt over slacking off and not working.
"Which point in time should I visit first?"
Shin raised his hand. On the ring finger of his right hand was a silver ring. This ring was both the tool and proof that allowed the Supreme Kai to freely travel through future time without punishment.
"The East Supreme Kai's original strength should have been above Super Saiyan 1 but below Super Saiyan 2. In that case..."
Shin thought for a moment, then his eyes lit up. "I'll go to the Cell Games first and see whether my current strength can suppress Perfect Form Cell."
After confirming the time coordinates, Shin raised his hand and used Instant Transmission, moving from the Supreme Kai Realm to outer space above Earth.
"The coordinates of time and space are both confirmed. Next comes time travel."
With a thought, Shin immediately activated the Time Ring and traveled through space-time.
Age 767, outer space above Earth.
Whoosh~
Shin arrived at this point in time. His gaze swept across the Earth below, and his divine senses skillfully swept over the planet...
"Found him!"
Shin's eyes lit up, and he immediately used Instant Transmission.
Cell Games arena.
Cell stood in the center of the arena, bored as he waited for the Cell Games to begin.
Shin floated high in the air ten thousand meters above, looking down at Cell below. Though they were far apart and clouds lay between them, Shin could still clearly see every spot on Cell's body.
"So this is Cell? He's so weak."
Shin sensed the life energy radiating from Cell. Compared to his own, Cell was as insignificant as an insect, someone Shin could crush with a raised hand.
"No, it's not that Cell is weak. It's that I'm too strong now!" Shin said narcissistically.
