Chapter Summaries

Cain said goodbye to Irene and Selene after giving them gifts, then returned to year X789 and told his companions he had traveled to the past rather than the future. Four hundred years later, Irene and Selene were still searching for Cain, and Irene was also searching for Erza.

• Cain gave Selene white boots and gave both dragons Angel's Hearts before handing Irene his Storage Pouch and promising they would meet again.
• After Cain left, Acnologia attacked Irene and Selene, forcing them to flee; Irene later left Erza in a village to protect her, but the village was destroyed before they could return.
• Four hundred years later, Irene continued searching for Cain and Erza, while Selene searched other worlds for Cain and remained consumed by her longing for him.
• Cain returned to year X789, checked with Ultear that only one month had passed, and joined everyone at breakfast.
• Cain told Erza and the others that he had traveled to the past instead of the future, prompting them to ask about it.

Cain recounted how he rescued Irene and revealed that she might be Erza’s ancestor, then began examining Wendy for the side effects of Dragon Slayer Magic. Grandeeney appeared inside Wendy and explained that she had been there to develop an antidote.

Cain learned that Grandeeney and the other dragons had entered the Dragon Slayers’ bodies to make an antidote and planned to help kill Acnologia. He brought Wendy into her spiritual space to reunite with Grandeeney, but stayed inside Wendy because her spiritual body depended on his power.

• Cain learned that Dragon Slayers who gained their powers from Dragon-Slaying Crystals, including Laxus, did not risk Dragonification because no dragon lived inside them.
• Grandeeney revealed that the dragons were using Dragon Soul Technique to remain inside the Dragon Slayers, make an antidote, and help kill Acnologia; leaving their hosts would cause them to die.
• Cain returned to his body and reassured Wendy, Mira, Charle, and the others that the danger was mostly resolved.

• Kyria secretly decided to target Mira, Erza, or Ultear instead of confronting Cain, then waited outside Fairy Tail's guild.
• Kinana gave Mira a supply list, and Mira left the guild to buy ingredients for dinner.

• Cain, Natsu, Gray, and Happy wandered Drasil while Erza, Ultear, Mira, Lucy, Wendy, and Charle explored its shops and food, but none of them found anything unusual.
• A sudden tremor shook the city, and a waiter explained that it was one of Drasil’s special features and that Aldoron was about to emerge.

Cain and Ultear fought two God Seeds attacking Aldoron’s city, with Cain rescuing Natsu, Gray, and Happy from Wolfen while Ultear defeated Kiyaz. Ultear then looked up at the still-roaring Aldoron.

• Wolfen copied Cain’s appearance and overwhelmed Natsu and Gray after reading their memories, while Happy recognized that the figure was not the real Cain.
• Cain arrived and cut Wolfen in half, after sensing trouble in the central city and flying there from his fight with Kiyaz.
• Kiyaz used magic to slow Ultear’s thoughts and attacked her, but she used Arc of Time on herself to restore her condition and counter him.
• Ultear froze Kiyaz with Level Eight: Raging Dragon Charge and shattered him with Explode.
• After defeating Kiyaz, Ultear looked up at Aldoron as it continued to roar.

The Guiltina Magic Council’s MNP forces attacked the awakened Aldoron, but the dragon destroyed their fleet. Cain confronted a crowned treant, then stepped in after Natsu fought Aldoron and left him exhausted; Cain’s first counterattack sent Aldoron crashing through houses.

• Commander Robert ordered the MNP magic airships to fire their Magic Convergent Cannon: Uranus at Aldoron, but the barrage failed to harm him.
• Aldoron retaliated with enormous branches and destroyed the MNP fleet, while Cain used his magic to keep the falling soldiers from dying.
• Cain exposed a crowned treant hiding underground and effortlessly caught its seed attack.

• Aldoron attacked Cain with trees, but Cain shattered his defenses and wounded him with Ultimate Judgment.

After returning to Diabolos, Cain and the others learned that Dogramag had survived by becoming a vast, expanding labyrinth. Selia revealed that Dogramag might also hold his stolen heart and the key to recovering a weapon for fighting dragons.

• Cain and the others returned to Diabolos and celebrated their victory while Selia admired the Storage Pouch and enjoyed the food.
• Cain asked to examine Selia because Dogramag had taken his heart, but Selia changed the subject and Mira questioned whether Dogramag had really died.
• Cain caught and beat Selia after he tried to grope Ultear, leaving Selia bruised and afraid of him.
• Selia explained that Dogramag had become a labyrinth expanding from the site of their old battle, and that Hikage had first noticed it.
• Selia asked the group to retrieve his heart from Dogramag, explaining that he could then find a weapon he had once sealed away for fighting dragons.

Cain and his companions asked Selia to send them to Diabolos, the Dragon Eater Guild, so Mira could confront Kyria. They arrived at the guild and began fighting its members, leaving Mira facing Kyria and Wendy battling Nebaru.

• Cain stopped Selia from sending them to the Grand Labyrinth and asked her to take them to Diabolos instead.
• Selia teleported Cain and his companions to Diabolos, where Nebaru attacked them with a web of slime that Cain burned away.
• Georg Reizen arrived with Kyria, Skullion, and Madmole, then ordered Nebaru and Kyria to attack Cain's group.
