After having Wang Chuyun sit beside the Spirit Brain, Bu Tianque played alongside her and quickly understood how Classics Auto Chess worked. Match three identical tiles, and two of the same type could be merged into a bar. Bars were powerful, with double-digit attack and health.
Once the tiles had been arranged, the match began directly, and the tiles automatically attacked according to their positions. When the front row died, the back row automatically moved up, until one side was wiped out.
Both victory and defeat earned five coins. After each match, those five coins could be used to buy new tiles or items, increasing the tiles' attributes. If the post-match shop's offerings were unsatisfactory, it could also be refreshed for money. One coin for the first refresh, two for the second, and so on.
If there was not enough money, tiles or items could be locked and bought later once there was enough.
Winning was simple as well: win ten matches, with no more than five losses along the way.
The overall rules were easy enough to understand after a little practice, and the game itself was simple. With good luck, a few rounds were enough to merge strong three-star tiles, and with a few items added in, it became a massacre.

After a few rounds, Bu Tianque found it somewhat interesting, but not interesting enough.
The only thing she found interesting was the asynchronous duel system. Each battle matched her against someone in the same state as herself, making it feel as though she were playing against real people.
After clearing two rounds smoothly, intermediate difficulty was unlocked.
Bu Tianque had assumed intermediate difficulty would add some restrictions or gambling elements, but it turned out to be a mechanical change instead.
