Chen Yu wondered if the more straightforward a person was, the harder it was for them to adapt. What he considered a newbie scenario that any normal person could clear in half an hour took Jin Cheng half a day to get through.
Fortunately, the Dreamscape was not too difficult at the beginning. Jin Cheng stumbled his way through it, but he finally made it past.
Once he entered the actual gameplay, however, he did quite well.
It was just that the switch in his mind had not flipped over yet. He was not stupid, after all, or his academic score could never have reached 85.
After a few rounds, he figured out how to manage his time in the Dreamscape, striking a perfect balance between work, study, and entertainment.
One quarter in the Dreamscape counted as one day, cycling through the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
Within each day, players had twenty-four hours to allocate, receiving rewards or punishments based on how they used them.
Certain areas could also trigger different events, allowing players to meet various characters, interact with other non-player characters, and unlock their personal side stories.
Working too often could increase income and related Labor Skills, but at the cost of steadily declining health. Eventually, players would fall ill and be hospitalized, turning all their earnings into medical bills.
Taking part in group activities might not earn money, but it allowed players to gather different kinds of information and even purchase certain items at low prices.
If one's Organization Skill was high enough, one could even organize friends to construct buildings together, erecting structures unlike those of the present atop the factory from fifty-two years ago. It gave Jin Cheng an entirely different sense of participation and pride.
We workers have strength!
