Shien Uchiha intervened in the Uchiha Massacre, kept the surviving clan from being destroyed by Root, and forced Konoha to provide compensation and transfer the Military Police Force to the Hyuga. The Uchiha began rebuilding under Shien’s leadership, while Sasuke faced isolation and hostility after leaving the clan grounds.

• Shien Uchiha revived through the Fate Savior system, summoned Shisui, and disrupted Itachi Uchiha’s massacre of the clan.
• Shien persuaded Fugaku to escape with Itachi, wounded Obito, and led the surviving Uchiha in resisting Root’s attempt to seize their Sharingan.
• Shien became acting clan head, revealed Danzo’s role to Hyuga Hiashi, and negotiated Hyuga patrols and aid for the Uchiha grounds.
• Shien displayed Root corpses and secured five billion ryo in compensation and the transfer of the Konoha Military Police Force to the Hyuga.
• Shien sent Mikoto and Sasuke to stay under the Third Hokage’s care, then organized Uchiha recovery plans, elite squads, and a program to cultivate promising children.

Shien recruited Haku and Kimimaro while helping Yagura restore order in the Hidden Mist and confronting Obito. In Konoha, Naruto learned why villagers despised him and began studying, while Akatsuki turned its attention toward Orochimaru and the Uchiha.

• Mikoto treated Naruto and Sasuke after Shiren beat them, welcomed Naruto to dinner, and Shisui returned to the Uchiha to atone for his past.
• Shien and Akabane helped Yagura reclaim control of the Hidden Mist, save Pakura, and recruit talented fighters including Mangetsu and Ringo.
• Shien rescued Haku and helped Yagura bring the Kaguya Clan under control, then took Haku and Kimimaro with him after warning Yagura about Obito.
• Obito attacked Yagura, but Shien wounded him and forced him to flee after revealing the limits of his intangibility.
• Shisui began teaching Sasuke to survive and think for himself, while Mikoto helped Naruto learn to clean and care for himself.
• Naruto learned that villagers blamed him for the Nine-Tails Incident, agreed to rank among the top five on his final exam, and began studying seriously.
• Shisui used Kotoamatsukami to make Orochimaru loyal to the Uchiha, and Shien received Rasenshuriken as a reward for changing Naruto’s fate.
• Pain ordered Akatsuki to investigate Orochimaru’s disappearance, pursue him, and seek promising recruits as Shien headed toward the Land of Grass.
