Background / History

Dai Mubai is a prince of the Star Luo Empire and Zhu Zhuqing's former fiancé. He fled Star Luo City while Zhu Zhuqing remained there under the pressure of the imperial succession struggle, a choice she regarded as abandonment. By the time she found him in Suotuo City, he had spent years at Shrek Academy and was known for pursuing women rather than preparing to reclaim his position. 46 48

His older brother, Dai Weisi, had continued monitoring his activities after his departure from Star Luo. Dai Mubai eventually abandoned his ambition to win the throne, deciding that survival was his only realistic goal in the succession conflict. 67 68

Dai Mubai relies readily on status, intimidation, and threats when he believes he holds an advantage. When Zhu Zhuqing confronted him, he warned that he could ensure she would not leave the restaurant alive; when Lin Chen intervened, he attempted to invoke his position as a Star Luo prince. 46 47

He is also deeply pragmatic when faced with an overwhelming power gap. After Lin Chen defeated him in a single strike, Dai Mubai restrained his anger and focused on leaving alive. Flender later persuaded him to consider tolerating Lin Chen's relationship with Zhu Zhuqing if it could help him secure the Star Luo throne. 47 49

His fear of Dai Weisi and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect ultimately outweighs his pride. He tries to persuade Zhu Zhuqing to flee with him, stays behind to investigate Lin Chen's hidden strength when she refuses, and later offers Lin Chen “ten times” Zhu Zhuyun's proposed price in an attempt to have Dai Weisi killed instead. 67 70 74

Confrontation with Zhu Zhuqing

Zhu Zhuqing locates Dai Mubai in a Suotuo City restaurant and attacks him with Hell Stab, leaving bone-deep wounds in his arms before he can complete Martial Soul Possession. Dai Mubai initially tries to evade and explain himself, but turns hostile after being wounded. 45 46

After activating his Martial Soul, he blocks Hell's Hundred Claws with White Tiger Body Shield and counters with White Tiger Radiant Wave. Lin Chen saves Zhu Zhuqing from the attack, then immediately crushes Dai Mubai's chest and sends him flying. 46 47

Shrek Academy and Lin Chen's Arrival

Dai Mubai returns to Shrek injured and reports that a young Spirit Master defeated him without using a Martial Soul. Rather than pursuing revenge, Flender identifies Lin Chen as a potential future Titled Douluo and attempts to recruit him. 48

When Lin Chen, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Wu join Shrek, Dai Mubai is forced to face Zhu Zhuqing again. Her rise to Level 42 within half a month confirms to him and the academy that Lin Chen possesses an abnormal method of raising Soul Power. 63 64

Succession Desperation

Dai Mubai concludes that Lin Chen is unlikely to aid him because of Zhu Zhuqing's hatred, then sends information to Dai Weisi as a desperate attempt to create an opportunity for survival. 67

He later warns Zhu Zhuqing that the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's Titled Douluo are approaching and urges her to flee with him. She dismisses him as useless, causing him to remain at Shrek in order to discover the source of Lin Chen's confidence. 70

Dai Weisi's Arrival

When Dai Weisi and Zhu Zhuyun arrive with a powerful Star Luo delegation, Dai Mubai prematurely taunts his older brother. Zhu Zhuyun then offers herself to Lin Chen in exchange for Dai Mubai's death, leaving Dai Mubai to desperately offer greater compensation for Dai Weisi's death instead. 72 74

Lin Chen rejects Zhu Zhuyun's demand, stating that Dai Mubai is still useful, but guarantees that Dai Mubai will never return to the Star Luo Empire. 75
