Inside the main tent, Li Xuancang sat as steady as an old god, neither taking the initiative to ask questions nor revealing his thoughts. His seasoned composure caught Cao Hua somewhat off guard.
"Little fox."
Cao Hua cursed inwardly. Li Xuancang did not resemble a young man in the slightest.
Li Xuancang neither asked questions nor brought up anything else, leaving him in a passive position.
After hesitating, Cao Hua took the initiative to break the deadlock.
"Lord Li, I broke through to the Blood Condensation Realm many years ago. I intend to hand over the authority in my hands and focus on advancing to Thousand-Man Commander, no longer involving myself in the camp's affairs."
Hearing this, Li Xuancang glanced at Cao Hua. He had not expected him to voluntarily surrender military authority.
Though surprised, Li Xuancang remained calm. He listened quietly without replying.
Seeing this, Cao Hua laid out his terms.
"However, there is a capable general under my command. His temperament is steady, his combat strength is formidable, and he has followed me for many years, working hard and rendering great service."
At this point, he paused and observed Li Xuancang's expression.
Yet Li Xuancang's face remained unchanged, showing no reaction at all.
Unable to fathom Li Xuancang's thoughts, he could only continue. "This subordinate is willing to relinquish all military authority and never interfere in any camp affairs again. I only ask that the Thousand-Man Commander do me this favor and recommend this man to fill the vacant Battalion Commander position."
"This subordinate will never interfere in military matters again, nor will I form factions and stir up trouble in private. I beg my lord to grant this."
In one breath, he revealed his purpose: he wanted one of his own men to take over his position.
