Early the next morning, Uchiha Shunichi dumped his work on Tsunade and took Karin to the Hyuga clan.
When Hyuga Hiashi heard that Uchiha Shunichi had arrived, he welcomed him warmly. But when he learned that a branch of his clan still existed on the moon, his expression immediately soured.
"Lord Hokage, to be honest, although such rumors do exist within our clan, I've never seen any evidence myself, and I have no idea what connection the moon has to our clan," Hyuga Hiashi explained to Uchiha Shunichi with a wry smile.
The older a clan was, the more rumors surrounded it. Some were legends, while others were schemes devised by people with ulterior motives...
Usually, rumors like these amounted to nothing. But over the long course of history, quite a few clans had perished because of such ridiculous rumors.
So, as far as Hyuga Hiashi was concerned, Uchiha Shunichi had most likely come here because he had believed some rumor...
"You've misunderstood, Clan Head Hyuga. Naturally, I came here with reliable intelligence. Besides, this matter doesn't just concern the Hyuga clan. It concerns the Land of Fire, and even the entire continent," Uchiha Shunichi explained with a smile.
At those words, the grave look on Hyuga Hiashi's face gave way to confusion.
"I see. But, Lord Hokage... I truly don't know how to reach the moon, as you mentioned. The Hyuga clan does have many texts passed down from ancient times, but searching through them won't be something we can finish in a moment," Hyuga Hiashi said cautiously with a wry smile.
He would not dare underestimate the newly appointed Hokage before him. Even setting aside the special status of the Hokage, reaching such a position at his age alone was enough to make Hyuga Hiashi take him seriously.
