Ark Simulator: Don't I Have No Physical Form?

Ren Dong rolled her eyes, then spoke to Su Rui, who was still outside, in her mind:

"I want to watch the livestream. Put it on for me."

"Weren't you worried about electronic radiation?"

"I'm not worried anymore. Anyway, I want to watch!"

There was something strangely familiar about Ren Dong's willful manner. Su Rui nodded helplessly and chose a program she liked for her.

"You can switch programs whenever you want. Call me if you need anything."

"Mm, I know."

Ren Dong nodded and focused on the program in front of her. After all, she always needed something to distract herself.

As for Su Rui, out of trust in Ren Dong, he did not pay attention to her somewhat strange behavior. He returned to the shrine carrying all sorts of snacks he had bought for her.

He couldn't just buy plum blossom cakes. If Ren Dong wanted something else, he couldn't exactly make another trip, could he?

However, when Su Rui returned to the shrine and was about to find Ren Dong, Texas stopped him.

"I'll take these over for you. I have something to talk to you about, so wait here for a moment."

"...Alright."

Su Rui nodded. Finding it somewhat strange, he immediately activated Scanning Vision. Only after confirming that Texas had merely delivered the snacks to Ren Dong and left, and that Ren Dong had not encountered any danger, did he relax.

So what exactly did Texas want to talk to me about?

With that question in mind, Su Rui followed Texas to her room.

"Sit down first. I'll make you some tea."

"What requires tea while talking? Is it something troublesome?"

Su Rui sat down in confusion, then watched Texas use a wooden stick to brace the door shut, effectively locking it.

"...What are you doing?"

Locking the door was understandable enough, for confidentiality. But when Texas did not make tea as she had said and instead walked straight toward him, Su Rui realized something was wrong.

"Wait, what do you want? I'm warning you, Ren Dong and I—"

Before Su Rui could say anything else, Texas pounced on him, hugged him, and rolled with him onto the soft bed.

In the next room, Ren Dong's ears twitched when she heard something hit the floor, but she continued focusing on the video before her.

Meanwhile, in Texas and Su Rui's room, a fierce battle began.

"Ren Dong hasn't been able to keep you company lately. Looks like you've built up quite a lot?"

"That's a different matter. I remember you weren't this kind of person. Texas was clearly supposed to be—"

Before Su Rui could finish, Texas pressed a finger to his lips. The wolf above him licked her lips as she looked down at her prey.

"I don't know where you got your information about me, but when it comes to something I want, I've always been willing to use any means necessary."

As she spoke, Texas forcibly dragged Su Rui into a connected game.

"Hiss, it's already noon. If I don't go back, Ren Dong might notice. Let me go already."

"If you go back, maybe I'll tell Ren Dong about this directly."

Texas threatened Su Rui in a way that was practically self-destructive, but since Su Rui did not know about the deal between her and Ren Dong, he really did have no choice but to be threatened.

After all, Su Rui did not want Ren Dong to know he had done something like this. Even if he had been forced, he still felt guilty.

The fierce battle between Su Rui and Texas continued until nightfall. Then Texas's phone rang. She glanced at it and casually declined the call.

"That was Ren Dong calling, right? Why did you hang up?"

"It'd be easy to get found out if I answered."

Texas got up as she looked at Su Rui.

"Wash the sweat off yourself and go back. Ren Dong is probably looking for you."

"And whose fault do you think that is?"

Muttering in dissatisfaction, Su Rui walked past Texas and feinted as though he were about to invite her to wash up with him. Then, with a bang, he locked the bathroom door behind him.

Texas did not mind. Su Rui's nine tails were not easy to dry, and he would still need her help later.

With that thought in mind, Texas casually put on a bathrobe and sat outside waiting for Su Rui.

Before long, she saw the handsome Nine-Tailed Fox youth emerge from the bathroom, water droplets still clinging to his body.

"Come, sit here. I'll clean up your tails."

"...Thanks."

Although he was unhappy about Texas's earlier actions, Su Rui still thanked her and sat down with his back to her.

Then Texas began handling the tails. Su Rui did not need to do anything at all; simply sitting there was already tormenting Texas as she arranged his tails behind him.

Wolper's fluffy tails were already difficult to air-dry and troublesome to deal with, let alone Su Rui, who had nine of them.

By the time Texas was halfway through, she was already getting irritated, her breathing quickening.

"I'm starting to sympathize with Ren Dong... Your children won't have nine tails too, will they?"

"Theoretically, they probably would. But they might also have one tail like Ren Dong, or maybe five?"

Su Rui casually guessed as he waited for Texas to finish cleaning his tails.

Volume One: Nineteen Tails After 59

Su Rui and Texas remained together until the sky outside had turned completely dark, yet Ren Dong still had not sent him a message. That left him confused, and a little guilty.

So when Su Rui returned to Ren Dong's room, he felt somewhat uneasy.

He gently pushed open the door to the pitch-black room and cautiously poked his head inside.

The darkness brought back the shame and unease that had briefly been hidden beneath happiness. Su Rui's heartbeat quickened, and he instinctively became alert.

There was no silhouette or light. Good, it looked like Ren Dong was already asleep... Su Rui could not help but sigh in relief, only to be startled by a voice suddenly coming from behind him.

"Where did you just go?"

"!"

Su Rui instinctively trembled. He wanted to shout to bolster his courage, but a slightly cool hand reached out from behind and covered his lips. At the same time, a warm body pressed close behind him.

Feeling the pressure protruding against his waist, Su Rui instinctively relaxed, afraid that any careless movement might touch Ren Dong behind him.

"I-I was playing games outside just now... You know, you don't like electronic radiation, so I could only go to another room to play... I got a little too absorbed."

Su Rui felt that his explanation was fairly reasonable. After a moment of silence, Ren Dong did not press further. Instead, she took his hand and said,

"Alright, let's get some rest too."

"Mm, I know."

Su Rui nodded and went to the bed with Ren Dong. Although Texas had taken the initiative... it was not as though Su Rui himself had no interest in that kind of thing.

So facing Ren Dong now, Su Rui still felt somewhat guilty.

Thus, when Ren Dong pulled him down to lie beside her and prepare to rest, Su Rui remained uneasy, afraid that Ren Dong would notice something.

Yet even without saying anything, the guilt in his heart was already making Su Rui uncomfortable.

I shouldn't have done that... Maybe slapping Texas back then would've snapped her out of it?

Lying beside Ren Dong, Su Rui instinctively turned over and faced away from her. Then he covered her with all nine of his tails, afraid she might catch cold.

"..." Ren Dong merely kept watch over Su Rui's reactions, guessing what he might be thinking at that moment.

After spending so much time together, Su Rui's thoughts were as easy for Ren Dong to understand as though he were completely transparent to her.

Ren Dong could also sense the guilt in Su Rui's heart. This proved that her plan was workable.

Though making Su Rui wallow in guilt was not exactly good, Ren Dong even worried that he might bottle up his feelings until something went wrong.

But for the sake of being with Su Rui longer in the future, and for gaining an advantage when they encountered other women Su Rui possessed, it was something she had to do.

With that thought, Ren Dong instinctively wanted to turn over, pull Su Rui into her arms, and comfort the dejected Su Rui properly.

Then she realized that her belly was too large now. For the sake of the child, Ren Dong could not turn over freely.

Sighing helplessly inside, Ren Dong could only reach out and gently stroke Su Rui's cheek, feeling him tremble in surprise.

"What is it? Does Ren Dong need help?"

Su Rui thought Ren Dong wanted to get up or do something, so he asked instinctively. But Ren Dong merely pinched his cheek lightly and urged him in a soothing tone,

"Alright, don't think so much. Go to sleep."

How does she know what I'm thinking? Su Rui's heart skipped a beat, but after thinking it over, he still did not believe Ren Dong could know his thoughts, and he relaxed slightly.

Besides, Ren Dong's comfort really did help. Although Su Rui still felt that Ren Dong had probably only noticed he was in a bad mood rather than realizing he felt guilty about cheating on her.

Still, Ren Dong's tone and those words sounded like comfort or forgiveness, genuinely making Su Rui feel much better.

So Su Rui turned over in the darkness and faced Ren Dong again. He looked at her delicate, pretty face beneath the faint moonlight, then pressed his cheek to hers and closed his eyes.

"..." Soon, both of their breathing gradually steadied, and they quietly nestled against each other as they drifted into sleep.

As for Texas... she could not fall asleep.

Texas was likewise entangled by conflict and guilt. She had even considered explaining everything to Ren Dong, saying she did not want to continue, apologizing, and leaving.

But Su Rui... after thinking it over and over, Texas still felt that what she had done was wrong. It was unfair to Su Rui, and not very moral either.

Yet this person who had saved her—at some point, Texas had become filled with possessiveness toward him.

The feeling that if she could not have him, her heart would ache as though clawed by a cat, tormented Texas.

Her morals told her that she should stop what she was doing, but when she thought about ending her relationship with Su Rui, Texas felt so miserable that she could not accept it.

Thus, to distract herself, the sleepless Texas irritably threw off the covers, sat up, turned on her computer, and began passing the time with the games Su Rui had installed.

It was not until the next morning, when it was time for breakfast and a shrine maiden knocked on her door, that Texas realized she had stayed up all night playing games.

"..." Feeling dizzy from gaming all night, Texas stood up and staggered groggily to the dining hall, where her gaze met Su Rui's. He had come to get food for Ren Dong.

Su Rui instinctively avoided Texas's gaze and walked past her. The nine large fluffy tails that had been casually swaying behind him stiffened from nervousness.

But Texas still followed Su Rui. While he was getting food, she leaned close and whispered in his ear,

"I have something to talk to Ren Dong about later. Can you wait for me a moment?"

"What do you want to say to Ren Dong?"

Su Rui instinctively became alert. If something like this happened, regardless of who had initiated it or who had been forced, Ren Dong would definitely bristle, right?

His ruby eyes stared straight at Texas. Su Rui wanted to scold her, but considering they were in the dining hall, he lowered his voice instead.

"Wait for me afterward. I have something I want to ask you."

Naturally, Texas had no objections. She nodded, got food with Su Rui, and walked with him toward Ren Dong's room.

In this hallway where hardly anyone passed by, Su Rui stopped midway, turned around, and stared directly at Texas.

"What do you want to say to Ren Dong?"

"...Don't worry. I just want to talk to her. I won't tell her about what happened between you and me."

Seeing Su Rui's wary and worried gaze, Texas could not help feeling pained inside. It only strengthened her resolve to confess to Ren Dong and withdraw.

"It'd better be."
