Zhu Fan serves as Dai Chengfeng's maternal uncle and a high-ranking protector of the Star Luo Empire. He accompanies Chengfeng after the prince leaves Star Luo City, personally driving his carriage and using his status as a Soul Douluo to deter threats along the road. 2 3 6

He initially worries about Chengfeng's dangerous ambitions and unconventional spirit-ring choices, but repeatedly chooses to support him. When Chengfeng proposes a near-suicidal military plan, Zhu Fan agrees to act as his vanguard and promises not to retreat even at the cost of his life. 9 16

Zhu Fan secretly helps conceal Chengfeng's attainment of level 20 Soul Power from the Star Luo Emperor, buying him time to pursue a different second spirit ring. He then accompanies Chengfeng into the Tiger Might Mountain Range to hunt an Emperor Blood Tiger. 19
