The young man heard what his father said, hurriedly set down the workstation in his hands, got up, and left the room with his father.
"Mr. He! Young Mr. He!" Along the way, every man and woman they encountered greeted the father and son politely.
The middle-aged man merely nodded slightly without saying much. The young man did the same. Soon, they arrived on the second floor and looked down at the somewhat frenzied crowd below. "Dad, what are you looking at?"
"A very strange kid." Mr. He raised a brow as he watched the crowd below.
"A strange kid? What kind of kid could interest you? The young master of some corporation? Or some rich second-generation heir?" Young Mr. He asked doubtfully as he followed his father's gaze. He saw a man dressed simply in a white shirt and black slacks, idly playing dice. After the dealer finished shaking the dice, the man did not hesitate to place all his chips on triples.
Young Mr. He clearly sensed the dealer's nervousness, but the dealer still opened the dice cup. It was indeed triples. Several onlookers beat their chests and stamped their feet, regretting that they had not followed the bet. He looked at his father. "This kid's luck is way too good."
Mr. He shook his head. "No matter how many times that dealer shakes the dice, he'll lose."
Young Mr. He was puzzled. "You mean he's cheating?"
Mr. He glanced at his son. "If I'm not mistaken, his hearing must be extraordinary. Just by listening to the dice collide inside the cup, he can predict what the next roll will be."
After saying that, he looked toward the man again. The man was still toying with the chips in his hand, but this time, he had switched tables and begun playing blackjack.
There did not seem to be any change in his expression, and Young Mr. He frowned in confusion. "Didn't you say this kid's ears were incredible? Why did he switch games after playing for only a while?"
"Looks like I underestimated him." Mr. He smiled.
"What do you mean?" Young Mr. He asked, confused.
"Just watch."
"Sir, you have the highest hand. Would you like another card?" The dealer at this table was an exceptionally beautiful woman. When she looked at Xue Chen, her eyes practically hooked into him. She had just seen him win quite a bit at another table. His bearing made him look like a spoiled rich second-generation heir. The fact that he had pushed all the chips before him forward without even blinking showed that his family was certainly no ordinary one.
The fingers tapping the table came to a stop. Xue Chen looked at the dealer in front of him. "Hit."
The female dealer drew another card and pushed it in front of Xue Chen, then dealt one card to each of the other four players. After checking around the table, she saw that Xue Chen had twenty points. She then revealed her own hand: seven points. She had busted. Seeing this outcome, the other four threw down their cards. "Sir, these are your chips." With that, she used the chip pusher in her hand to push the chips back in front of Xue Chen.
After the four people left, five more took their seats. Xue Chen glanced over them. There were men and women alike. One of them, a man with an azure dragon tattoo on his arm, greedily eyed the chips in front of Xue Chen.
Xue Chen frowned. He was not afraid that the man would rob him openly. This was the He Household's establishment. If anyone dared to cause trouble here, they would probably never set foot in a casino again for the rest of their life. He was merely considering what method he should use to deal with this man without anyone noticing. After all, in a casino, some became rich overnight, while others became poor overnight. There were plenty who could not take it and jumped from buildings or into the sea.
"This kid has won so much money. I'm afraid he won't make it home alive after leaving here." From his lofty position, Young Mr. He naturally took in the scene below.
"Not necessarily. That lackey had better not get any crooked ideas, or he won't even know how he died in the end." Mr. He knew that Xue Chen was far from as gentle and refined as he appeared. The way Xue Chen had looked at that lackey just now was as though he were looking at a dead man. Yes, a dead man. "Pass the word down. Put this kid on the blacklist, and inform the nearby casinos that they are not to have any news of him. If anyone sees him, throw him straight into the sea to feed the fish."
"Dad, I understand." Though Young Mr. He found his father's actions somewhat strange, he still gestured to the side and summoned a man who looked like a manager, then pointed at the lackey seated beside Xue Chen downstairs.
"Sir, you currently have the highest hand. Would you like to continue?" The female dealer's expression was cold and aloof. Unlike how she had looked at Xue Chen earlier, her eyes now held nothing but business.
"Of course I'm going all in. Otherwise, what am I here to play for?" The man laughed arrogantly and gave Xue Chen a provocative look.
Xue Chen directly turned his cards over, indicating that he was folding this round. He could not be bothered to keep tangling with this idiot.
The dealer did not force the issue. The other players whose scores were close to his continued betting, but they had clearly been too confident, and their loss was miserable. On the first hand, the tattooed man lost all his money. "Fuck! You must have cheated! This round doesn't count. I want to start over."
Smack! Smack!
The female dealer paid him no attention and clapped her hands. Two security guards responsible for maintaining order in the casino immediately came over. Each grabbed one of his arms and dragged him out. Before leaving, they conveniently gagged him as well.
"Alright, everyone. Don't let such a trivial matter ruin your mood for playing cards. Begin dealing." The female dealer swept her gaze over the surrounding players, her professional smile still on her face.
"Begin." Xue Chen said flatly.
This time, Xue Chen was the first to receive a card. With a light flick of his finger, he drew the ace of spades. The others merely glanced at their own cards, but upon seeing his hand, they all immediately laid their cards down.
"Sir, you have the highest hand. Please make your decision." The female dealer smiled when she saw Xue Chen's card.
