"My phone?" Hearing the ringtone, Qi Si took a few seconds to realize it was his own phone.
Bo Yanqi reached over, hooked Qi Si's coat over, took his phone from the pocket, and handed it to him.
Qi Si took it and saw, unsurprisingly, that it was Qi Wang calling.
"My brother."
Bo Yanqi said nothing, merely gesturing for him to answer quickly.
If it had been anyone else calling, it would not have mattered if he ignored it. But if he ignored Qi Wang's call, the consequences would be severe.
Seeing the time on his phone, Qi Si immediately understood why Qi Wang was calling.
Before he left, his brother had relented and said he did not need to be home before dark, but he had not said Qi Si could stay out this late.
If he had not been with Bo Yanqi, his brother probably would have called much earlier.
Qi Si took a deep breath and answered the call.
"Hello? Brother, what is it?"
Qi Wang's voice came from the other end. "Are you home?"
His tone sounded rather calm, not like he was angry.
Qi Si opened his mouth to say "not yet," then abruptly paused, sensing that something was off.
"I... am." Qi Si answered into the phone, sounding less than certain.
He was probing.
Sure enough, Qi Wang did not seem to doubt his answer.
"When did you get there? Is Bo Yanqi with you?"
Qi Wang's voice remained calm, and Qi Si's eyes widened slightly.
His brother really did not seem to be home?!
Qi Si looked at Bo Yanqi beside him in surprise. Even Bo Yanqi could not help raising an eyebrow.
"We just got back not long ago. Brother, where are you?" Qi Si asked tentatively.
Qi Wang fell silent
