Konoha: Muzan of the Hatake Household—The Land of Waves Under Attack
The two had once worked together. During their joint invasion of Konoha, Muzan had been held back by Konoha's people. They had been trying to break through at the time, so he had not stayed in contact with Hidan.
Now that the Akatsuki had caught the attention of every major ninja village, they were likely all searching for its whereabouts. Muzan had to consider whether to contact the Akatsuki at this time. He was worried that if the Akatsuki's location was exposed, they would assume Muzan had betrayed them.
"As for the Jashin Cult, I'll deal with it once the war enters a stable phase."
Now that he had a direction for resolving it, there would be no problems for the time being with natural energy supporting him.
"Muzan-sensei, if I have the time, I can investigate the Jashin Cult. I'm very curious about an ability that grants immortality like that of Man-Eating Demons."
A cold gleam flashed across his glasses. Combined with his faintly smiling expression, Kabuto was, in some ways, a copy of Muzan.
With his intelligence, he would be fine even if he encountered that bunch of lunatics from the Jashin Cult.
As the two spoke, a tremendous boom suddenly erupted. The resulting tremors shook the entire room.
Because of the large platform overhead, the midday sunlight was swallowed by thick, gray-brown dust clouds. They blotted out the sky as fierce high-pressure winds swept through.
"What happened outside?"
Kabuto grabbed the experiment table to steady himself, staring at the changing sky in shock.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
After the explosion came the laboratory alarm. The walls turned a glaring red, casting light over Muzan's face and making his expression extraordinarily furious as killing intent spilled from him.
