Background

Qi Ning was originally the lead vocalist of AC Boy Group. After leaving the group “in a fit of temper,” he was replaced by Xiang Ziqi. His departure created lasting hostility between him and the group, whose members are known to avoid him; Xiang Ziqi in particular resents comparisons between their singing. 23

He is the eldest grandson of the Qi Household and is widely regarded as a privileged “nepo star.” His legal and family backing make online critics wary of directly insulting him by name. 27 His fanbase, the Seven Fairies, became notorious after defending him against several opposing fandoms following his public conflict with AC Boy Group. 27

Qi Ning arrives an hour late with Xia Yu, immediately irritating the other guests and viewers. He ignores Xueli’s greeting, demands production staff carry his luggage, and states that neither he nor Xia Yu should be assigned heavy tasks. 23 24

Red Team Conflict

Placed on the Red Team opposite Xia Yu, Qi Ning tries to form an alliance with him and promises to protect him. He refuses to cooperate with Xia Wanqing’s group unless they accept his conditions, leveraging his claimed special-forces training and threatening to repeatedly eliminate his own teammates if necessary. 25 26

Qi Ning takes a Revival Card from Chen Hongyi and makes Xia Wanqing swear an extreme oath before allowing him to use it to revive Chu Lan. This deepens the Red Team’s resentment toward him. 31

Raids, Elimination, and Revenge

Qi Ning raids the Blue Team’s base and eliminates Liu Yue and Xueli. 33 After Xia Wanqing eliminates Xia Yu, Qi Ning confronts him at gunpoint and attempts to retaliate, only for Chen Hongyi to eliminate him first. 37

Once revived, he furiously searches for the Red Team and becomes even more determined to avenge Xia Yu. He later reunites with Xia Yu and forms an open alliance against Xia Wanqing and Chu Lan. 38 41

Xiang Ziqi uses a Teammate Exchange Card to move Qi Ning to the Blue Team and Chu Lan to the Red Team. Qi Ning immediately revives Zhang Wen and declares that whichever team he joins is guaranteed to win. 41 42
