Watching Yun Shan sink into thought, Protector Wu once again flashed a confident smile.
He thought his words had tempted Yun Shan!
In truth, though, he had just been spouting a trainload of nonsense.
After all, he himself was only a protector. How could he possibly have the authority to help Yun Shan become a Dou Venerable?
If a Venerable Elder of the Soul Hall had said those words to Yun Shan, they might have carried some credibility.
But Protector Wu's whole strategy hinged on the gap between his knowledge and Yun Shan's.
He did not believe Yun Shan knew the Soul Hall's affairs inside out.
And in fact, that was indeed the case.
Even so, Yun Shan had never believed Protector Wu's words, much less been tempted by them.
"Kekeke, Sect Leader Yun Shan, have you made up your mind? You must understand, once you break through to the Dou Zun Realm, you could restore the glory of Yun Potian's era!"
Seeing the "conflicted" look on Yun Shan's face, Protector Wu pressed his advantage once more.

But an act had to be carried through to the end. Naturally, Yun Shan would not agree so readily to something like this.
Everything he did was merely meant to give Protector Wu the impression that he was tempted and considering it, yet still deeply hesitant.
