The surging Black Wind howled in all directions. Countless celestial bodies within this starfield were blanketed by it, and every living thing upon them had its blood essence and vital energy sucked dry by the Black Wind, withering away.
One moment, they had been bustling with life; the next, all sounds had fallen silent. Deathly stillness and lifelessness spread everywhere, heavy and bleak, with no sign of life remaining.
The vast tide of blood essence and vital energy was wrapped in the Black Wind and gathered toward a single central point. Even space there was twisting, blown this way and that by the wind, while countless figures emerged.
These figures shifted unpredictably. At times there were only a sparse few; at others, they were so numerous that they stretched beyond sight. Each merged with a strand of blood essence, and the instant they touched it, their faces became clear. First came confusion, then terror. Then, amid those intense emotional fluctuations, the figures shattered. Mixed with the streams of blood essence, they were swallowed by a gigantic rift that had opened in the pitch-black space!
That rift was a mouth!
It was the form born after Black Wind had eroded space, turning it into a vessel to carry the source of the Black Wind!
At this moment, within one corner of the starfield shrouded in raging winds, a figure wreathed from head to toe in flames rose and fell unsteadily, speaking—
"Black Wind Great Venerable, I had long heard that you acted with ruthless cruelty and cared nothing for mortal lives. Now it seems those rumors were no lie. Yet you so recklessly destroy the lives of mortal beings, squeezing their blood essence and vital energy dry
