This monkey had originally set out to find Yuan Muxi and seize him, intending to study him properly and see just how he had placed shackles upon him. At the very least, he could let some blood.
In his view, his present condition was related to Yuan Muxi's blood. That blood seemed to have put shackles on him, but it was no simple thing. Perhaps his current state was because he had not drunk enough of it.
However, before he could put this thought into practice, golden light flashed all over the monkey's body, and he was directly sealed beneath the Earth-Rammed Well Mouth, resolving Yuan Muxi's crisis for the moment.
But it did not end there. Once the monkey escaped, he went looking for Yuan Muxi again and tried the same trick. Yet the instant he made a move, he was sealed once more.
After several repetitions, the monkey finally saw the problem. Yuan Muxi, too, changed from his initial terror and fear to curiosity and calm. During this time, he had read quite a few Eastern Land classics and learned much about the principles of conducting oneself in the world. His horizons had broadened, and his wisdom had been awakened, so he roughly sorted out the cause.
Seeing that nothing could be done, the black-furred monkey was furious, but he could pick things up and put them down. After tossing out a few threats, he prepared to leave.
Yet once he left, trouble followed. After getting too far away, he was sealed again, and no matter what he did, he could not break free. After pondering it over and over, the monkey once more carried a well on his back and went to find Yuan Muxi.
In the end, when he encountered Yuan Muxi, the seal was lifted
