"I also think that masseuse had insanely strong hands, but it felt so good afterward! Like every part of my body had been loosened up!" Shu Menglan said.
Li Yu's smile was somewhat forced. Just now, he had even felt like he'd been beaten up.
The others had indeed heard Li Yu's "screams." If they hadn't known he was getting a massage in there, they would have misunderstood...
Still, considering they were filming a show, no one dared make overly inappropriate jokes.
By the time all eight guests had finished their massages, it was already close to ten at night.
Only then did Li Yu feel tired. After washing up, he collapsed straight onto the bed.
Yu Lin, however, couldn't sleep. He stared blankly at Li Yu's back from the opposite bed.
How could someone fit his preferences so perfectly, and make his heart race again and again? Whether it was Li Yu looking handsome and sunny while playing volleyball, or Li Yu looking alluring and captivating while dancing, both made his heartbeat speed up and his reason spiral out of control.
Yu Lin thought that perhaps... he liked Li Yu.
Even he hadn't noticed that these feelings had come far too quickly. The total time he had spent with Li Yu didn't even add up to a week.
But the truth was, liking someone was just a feeling. It could come in an instant, sudden and unexpected. No one could predict when it would arrive.
What was more, with all of Li Yu's unconscious little actions provoking him, Yu Lin's feelings would only grow stronger and stronger.
Li Yu wasn't actually asleep. He kept feeling as though a pair of eyes was watching him from behind, so he turned over—and sure enough, met Yu Lin's gaze.
When Yu Lin saw Li Yu turn around, he guiltily lowered his eyes.
"Why aren't you asleep yet?" Li Yu asked, his voice carrying a trace of fatigue.
"I... can't really sleep. I'm thinking about something," Yu Lin said.
Li Yu said, "Hm? Now I'm curious. What could possibly keep you up thinking like that?"
Yu Lin fell silent at once. He wasn't sure whether he should say it out loud.
After spending more than ten seconds psyching himself up, he finally said, "It's just... I feel like I li—"
But before he could finish, Li Yu suddenly said, "It's okay. It's your private business, after all. You don't have to say it if you don't want to. I just wanted to tell you to sleep early, or you won't be able to get up tomorrow morning."
After saying that, Li Yu rolled over again, turning his back to Yu Lin.
He wasn't the type to pry into other people's privacy. He had noticed Yu Lin's embarrassment just now, which was why he spoke up to stop him.
Yu Lin sighed. As expected, he didn't have the courage to say it.
But maybe that was for the best. If Li Yu rejected him, how awkward would filming the next few episodes be?
The next day, the guests all got up at ten. After lunch, they sat on the swings outside the restaurant and chatted.
The sun was bright, and even the breeze blowing toward them carried the scent of the sea. Shu Menglan stretched lazily and said, "The weather's so nice today. This is exactly the kind of weather I love!"
"It's making me want to live by the sea someday... I don't know why, but every time I see the ocean, I feel especially peaceful," Liang Meichen said wistfully, gazing at the sea in the distance.
Li Yu also looked toward the ocean. Yu Lin wasn't sitting on a swing behind him; he merely pushed Li Yu's back now and then.
"What activities do we have this afternoon? Sigh, now that I think about how we'll be leaving after filming this afternoon, I'm kind of reluctant to go," Xiang Zhinan said.
"Exactly. These two days went by so fast. It's been really fun being with everyone. This is probably the most fun variety show I've ever done," Shu Menglan said sentimentally.
The production team of A Day to See All the Flowers spent roughly two days and two nights in each location, going for a whirlwind travel style.
But two days and two nights of footage were enough. Add in some individual interviews with the guests during post-production, and they would have more than enough material for a two-hour episode.
"This afternoon, the production team has spared no expense to take everyone deep-sea diving," Zhong Su answered.
"Wow! Diving! That's so cool!" Shu Menglan leaped straight up from the swing.
Yu Lin also stopped what he was doing. "The production team is really going all out!"
"Each guest will have an instructor. We'll head to the pool first for some diving training, and only then will we officially enter the sea."
As soon as Zhong Su finished speaking, eight instructors walked up to the guests in a line. After introducing themselves, they immediately led everyone to the training area.
Before the diving lesson, the guests all had to change into wetsuits and apply sunscreen mud.
The sunscreen mud came in all kinds of vivid colors. After Li Yu put on his diving mask and turned around, he saw Yu Lin behind him and nearly burst out laughing.
"Little Yu, what are you laughing at?" Yu Lin asked, utterly confused.
"Nothing. I just suddenly thought of a character... Avatar. Do you know it?"
Yu Lin realized that Li Yu was laughing at how he looked with the sunscreen mud on. Puffing out his cheeks, he said indignantly, "You're laughing at me, but aren't you an Avatar too?"
"Mm, I am."
Li Yu nodded silently, looking exactly like he was humoring an unreasonable child.
This time, they were scuba diving—the kind where they entered the sea with oxygen tanks on their backs. It was a little cumbersome, but safer than free diving. Each person also had an instructor with them, so any problems could be dealt with immediately.
The instructors first taught the guests how to use their regulators, clear water from their masks, equalize ear pressure, and so on. Then they introduced some basic communication hand signals, followed by free practice time in the pool.
Ear pressure equalization was an extremely important operation in diving. Some first-time divers experienced ear pain afterward because they hadn't equalized the pressure while diving, so the guests focused on learning two simple methods of ear equalization.
Li Yu dove around in the pool for a while before surfacing and removing his regulator. The moment he lifted his head out of the water, he saw Chi Yan sitting by the pool.
"Brother Chi, I remember you sometimes go offshore fishing, right? Have you ever learned diving?"
Chi Yan replied, "I got my free diving certification a long time ago, but we're filming today, so it depends on the director's arrangements."
"I want to go offshore fishing too. Brother Chi, could you bring me along next time you go?" Li Yu blinked.
"Sure."
After saying that, Chi Yan put on his diving mask.
Seeing that he had practiced enough, Li Yu took Chi Yan's hand and climbed ashore.
They also took a speedboat out to sea this time. Once they reached their destination, the guests entered the water one after another like dumplings being dropped into a pot.
The moment he plunged his head beneath the sea, the sensation was wonderfully strange. The sounds of the outside world all faded, as though he had entered another world.
Schools of fish swam past Li Yu. Clownfish, hermit crabs, and other creatures darted among the colorful corals. Sunlight made the seawater bluer and brighter, and the beauty of it left him speechless.
Several sharks swam toward them, and Li Yu froze for a moment. The instructor beside him tugged him, guiding him to swim in another direction.
Most sharks did not attack people under normal circumstances. Besides, the instructors here often entered the water to feed the sharks and had a good relationship with them.
Li Yu suddenly recalled the popular online phenomenon called "Underwater Starry Sky," created by a fish storm and the Tyndall effect. But perhaps because of the current climate on Rippling Isle, they did not encounter a fish storm.
