Rachel threw a side kick. Daisy raised an arm to block it, then seized her daughter's ankle with her other hand and hurled her sideways.
Phoenix Fire surged around Rachel, turning her into a meteor as she broke free from Daisy's grasp.
"You rely too heavily on the Phoenix Force. Remember, Phoenix is Phoenix, and you are you. Use your own abilities." Daisy was very serious during training.
Rachel was a little unconvinced. "If I have the power, why shouldn't I use it?"
"Watch me." Daisy copied Rachel's earlier move and kicked out.
Rachel likewise caught her ankle, intending to throw her away.
Daisy's leg vibrated rapidly. The vibration was not especially fast; it was merely just beyond Rachel's grip strength. When Rachel's hold loosened slightly, Daisy's toes shot toward her throat like a spear.
One move could decide the match. There was no need to draw on the Phoenix Force, fly far away, and then unleash some ultimate move in a fight to the death. That was simply a waste of energy.
Perhaps her previous life had left Rachel too repressed. In that future timeline, she had not dared to use her abilities. Now that she had arrived at this point in time, she had swung to the opposite extreme, constantly wanting to unleash ultimate moves.
Daisy felt that she had to correct her way of thinking.
"See? Dig into your own abilities and use them. You have great potential. Again!"
As an Omega-level mutant, Rachel had abilities of her own. She had simply used the Phoenix Force for too long, so in every battle, she instinctively wanted to use it. That power was inexhaustible, far more convenient and efficient than abilities that simply consumed physical stamina.
But Daisy did not think that was a long-term solution. Phoenix might
