Hill immediately went on alert, her right hand half-clenched as though she were preparing to grab General Ross by the throat.
Daisy pressed down on her hand, glanced inside, and when she turned back, her eyes had already gone cold.
"You're still obsessed with the Hulk experiments? Without an experimental subject, you used your own daughter?"
Inside the metal cage was a woman who vaguely resembled Betty Ross. But now, her entire body was covered in muscles. Though she was not as exaggerated as the Hulk, a two-meter-tall, heavily muscled, fiery-red giantess was still a terrifying sight.
If Old Ross had really done this, Daisy would make sure he did not live to see tomorrow's sun.
"For God's sake, I swear on all my ancestors that I didn't do this. If I had, why would I bring you here to see it? Huh? I'm not that stupid, am I?" The old man was seventy percent furious and ten percent afraid, while the rest of his emotions were complicated. Still, Daisy could see that his gaze did not waver in the slightest.
She turned back to the metal cage.
From a normal city woman standing one meter seventy and too weak to even truss a chicken, Betty Ross had transformed into a two-meter-tall, muscle-bound She-Hulk whose cells radiated intense heat. She had undergone an extraordinary metamorphosis.
"This was an accident even I can't make sense of. I don't know how she suddenly became like this. Please, believe me. Help me, and help her too." Old Ross's hands trembled around his cane, which repeatedly struck the floor as though he hoped the motion would make his words more convincing.
Daisy studied Old Ross for a moment. He even had trouble moving, so leaving Hill to watch him should not be a problem.
