Looking at it this time, Daisy felt that she could understand it. She had put considerable effort into this field recently. Helping Jane Foster defy fate and rewrite her destiny had been a successful application of that knowledge, so she was no longer completely ignorant when it came to the path of fate.
She carefully studied the knowledge recorded in this so-called Book of Fate (Fake), comparing it with some of her own ideas and the demonstration the Living Tribunal had given earlier. For a time, she felt that she had gained a great deal.
Daisy quickly flipped past the sections on mortals, then skipped over the material on the early and middle stages of the Universal Tier. Only when she reached the description of breaking from the Universal Tier into the Multiversal Tier did she begin reading closely.
The classifications for the Universal Tier and Multiversal Tier were roughly the same on both sides. She carefully considered the methods for advancing from the Universal Tier into the Multiversal Tier.
What the Living Tribunal had shown her was one method, while this Book of Fate revealed a process. One was a set of problem-solving steps tailored specifically to her own abilities; she could use it simply by following the example, though she had never been ready before. The other was a textbook that went from basic literacy all the way to university graduation. What exactly she could comprehend still depended on her own study, and the textbook bore no responsibility for how much knowledge she could absorb.
They were fundamentally different things, with no basis for comparison. Still, this systematic knowledge was exactly what Daisy lacked.
Looking deeper, the restrictions on DC's side were just as severe. If you used someone else's power, you had to submit to their control.
