"Sorry, sorry, I'm from..." Doctor Strange held the book rather awkwardly. He considered himself someone from a civilized society with a higher education; taking something without asking was indeed improper, so he hurriedly tried to explain.
But Dark Sacrifices gave him no chance to speak. The humanoid creature spat out a monosyllable Doctor Strange had never heard before.
Then came a blast. No magic shield, no clever defensive spell could withstand that single syllable.
Doctor Strange was effortlessly sent flying. The door, which had originally been behind him at his three o'clock, automatically shifted position, and he flew out of the Multiverse Library in a butt-first backward landing pose.
There was no coughing blood, no broken tendons or shattered bones. He was uninjured—not hurt in the slightest. The opponent's bizarre attack shattered his shield, pushed him out of the library, and then vanished.
Doctor Strange examined the door. The other party had not come out, and the spellbook in his hand had not disappeared either.
Backing down in the face of difficulty was impossible. He reinforced his magic once more and firmly pushed open the door.
It seemed like a repeat of before. The library was empty, but when he prepared to take another two books, the other party jumped out again, gave him no chance to explain, and sent him flying with another monosyllable.
Doctor Strange stood outside the library door, somewhat annoyed.
He persistently tried twice more and finally figured out part of the pattern.
If he put the book in his hand back on the shelf, the other party would not appear. But the moment he picked up another book, the other party would jump out and knock him flying.
There was no communication in this process, no room for negotiation. Whether he accepted it or not,
