Unlike the other countries, which treated it as none of their business, the United States was thrown into complete chaos. Atlantis was simply too close to the East Coast, and alarms had already been sounded at many military bases.

Even though the Pentagon and Stark had already fallen out, they still bombarded him with call after call. Their meaning, both overt and implied, was for him to go take a look and promptly inform the old generals in the rear of whatever he found.

"Tony, how's the situation now?" Captain America hurried over in a fighter jet. There was nowhere to land at the scene, so he chose to parachute down. After tossing aside his parachute pack, he immediately questioned Stark, who had arrived three minutes earlier.
