Nebula secretly returned for the funeral. After less than half an hour at the scene, she left Earth without looking back. She would never come to this crappy place again.
Stark and Captain America each delivered sincere, heartfelt speeches. Sharon Carter, who was preparing to transfer to a civilian post in the government, also gave S.H.I.E.L.D.'s statement on Hill's behalf.

Perhaps they thought of their stocks, or perhaps they thought of the green hats on their heads. In any case, Washington's warmhearted citizens all cried their eyes out.
The wailing was so loud that even the thunder of the ceremonial cannons could not drown it out. A grand funeral thus came to an end. Everyone went home to eat and drink as usual; when they woke up tomorrow, it would be another new day.
"Please accept my condolences... Please, accept my condolences..." Doctor Banner watched his former girlfriend, now the former First Lady, grieving in sorrow. Their relationship was awkward, and maintaining even superficial politeness was far from easy.
Mrs. Betty was miserable too. She had encountered three good men in her life, yet failed to hold on to any of them. The brigadier general simply could not bear the reality of being cuckolded. Divorce!

What a tragedy!
