Regret, self-reproach, countless emotions surged into Stark's heart. He hated himself bitterly for his recklessness.
Then he thought of another possibility. The Soul Stone had been placed together with the Mind Stone. Since Red Skull had obtained the Soul Stone, would he let the Mind Stone go?
After hearing the question, Professor Charles shook his head uncertainly. "I don't think so. Ordinary people can hardly wield the Mind Stone's power. This power is highly dependent on the mind; even I can only barely control it."
"And what state is Red Skull in now? I heard he died a long time ago. Does he even still have a human body? I don't believe it."
Professor Charles pointed at the souls mindlessly charging around them. "The Mind Scepter Thanos created back then could only affect the surface consciousness of living beings. If a target's will was strong enough, they could break free of the Gem's influence. Even Thanos needed specially made tools to use the Mind Stone. Could Red Skull's mind possibly be stronger than Thanos's?
"Even if he could use the Mind Stone, what about the Soul Stone? Could he use both at once? Without the Infinity Gauntlet, even Daisy couldn't control two Gems simultaneously back then."
His tone was firm and his reasoning irrefutable. He laid out facts and logic with great clarity despite being surrounded and attacked by countless enemies. It was clear that Jean had learned her analytical abilities from Professor Charles.
By ordinary reasoning, he was certainly right. But Stark saw things differently. Lowering his head, he said, "...I considered that issue. I asked Daisy's cat to make a device for me. All the experimental data showed that it could now use two Gems at the same time..."
Professor Charles was stunned. What was there left for
