When Adam Tribunal arrived in Wakanda, he first felt relieved. Thankfully, it wasn't any of Johnson's children. Then he froze slightly. Who was this person absorbing the Infinity Gems before him?
In terms of raw energy alone, even with all the Avengers' abilities combined, the Disciple was still far inferior to the Living Tribunal.
But what shocked the Living Tribunal was that he discovered this was a life-form outside his jurisdiction.
His Omniscient Realm could not see through the other party at all. Could this be a life-form from beyond this world, like the Beyonder Race? Foreign affairs were never trivial—though Adam Tribunal had never heard that saying, he understood its meaning. For a moment, he hesitated.
The Living Tribunal's appearance turned the Disciple's previously impassive face into one of delight. He tossed aside two Infinity Gems as if they were trash. A bigger prize had arrived—who would care about a few sesame seeds now?
Merlin had instructed the Disciple to avoid several important figures, such as Johnson's children and the Living Tribunal before him.
He had not provoked Rachel. Vaguely, he looked down on Rachel's abilities somewhat. But the Living Tribunal was different. This was an omniscient but not omnipotent administrator of the multiverse. Even if it meant defying Merlin's wishes, he wanted to take a shot at it.
As long as he copied the Living Tribunal's abilities and stacked them with his other powers, he might be able to break through his limits and reach a place even Teacher Merlin had never reached.
For that great goal, he was willing to bear any consequences that followed.
Call him a newborn calf unafraid of tigers, or say his thirst for knowledge was too strong—the Disciple cast aside the Infinity Gems and directly began copying the Living Tribunal's abilities.
