"You know, this wasn't my intention. Disciple lost herself in the face of overwhelming power. She lost control." Old Merlin offered an explanation first. It was important, as it concerned the stance they would take in the conversation that followed—or at least, that was what he thought.
Daisy smiled faintly.
After a long while, she said pointedly, "Actually, you don't understand what happened, nor do you know the impact this incident has had."
Hmm? Something was off about this conversation. As The Sage in the eyes of countless powerful beings across the universes, being told to his face that he did not understand something—something directly tied to his own interests, no less—made Old Merlin deeply uncomfortable.
He ran through the entire incident from beginning to end but found nothing he had overlooked. Disciple's loss of control had indeed been serious, but it was not a major matter to him. It should have been even easier for Daisy to handle.
What could it be?
"Please enlighten me." In pursuit of knowledge, Merlin was willing to pay any price. He lowered his stance slightly and asked with sincerity.
Daisy pointed into the void. "It was only after seeing Disciple that I understood why OAA permitted your existence. Before, I thought it was an accident. Now I know it wasn't."
The matter had suddenly been elevated to the utmost level. Old Merlin's eyelid twitched slightly. "What do you mean?!"
"Disciple represents your past and is a part of you. Now that she has replicated all the powers and responsibilities of the Living Tribunal, what does that mean? It means that one day in the future, she will become the Living Tribunal."
Merlin still did not understand the connection. He cautiously asked, "I believe you have already stopped her. That future no longer exists."
