Ancient One had fought Odin before, but that had been three hundred years ago. Odin had been friendly with the first Sorcerer Supreme and regarded Ancient One as a junior. Their sparring matches had basically stopped short of any real danger. Odin had not used Gungnir, and Ancient One had not used her full arsenal either.

Her understanding of Gungnir's power remained purely theoretical.

To prevent the divine spear from pursuing her, she hurriedly summoned the Staff of the First Sorcerer. A translucent barrier appeared before her, while she activated the Darkhold and prepared to cast a powerful spell.

Every force had an equal reaction. She feared Gungnir's power, but Baldy was also sent reeling by the magical shield's backlash. That one hit nearly made him vomit his guts out.

What was this golden shield in front of him? Forget seeing it—he had never even heard of such a thing. His knowledge was still at the level of an agent; he had no idea magic even existed.
