Riot's hands kept shifting—blades, battle axes, spiked maces. With immense strength and razor-sharp weapons, he smashed the metal flying through the air into scattered fragments that filled the sky.
After fighting for half a minute, he realized something was wrong. The metal was getting smaller and smaller under his blows, but it was useless. Unless he could smash it down to molecules, this battle would never end.
"Pssh!" Even Lun's exceptional reflexes had slackened slightly after such sustained high-intensity combat. His movements were a beat too slow, and a sharp steel bar shot out from behind and to the side, piercing Riot clean through from back to front.
Hmm? Lorna frowned again. Although the strike had pierced that rubber-like outer layer, the feeling was wrong. It had gone through far too smoothly, as if his body was hollow beneath that skin. The steel bar passed straight through without encountering any resistance.
Riot bared his teeth in a threatening grin. With his feet braced against the wall and his knees slightly bent, he casually yanked out the steel bar. His muscles rippled, and the wound vanished without a trace.
"Take it back!" he roared hoarsely.
The steel bar flew like lightning, striking the force field Lorna had set up before herself and shattering into several pieces.
"Piercing doesn't work? Then try cutting!" Lorna surrounded Riot with countless sharp metal shards and sliced at him frantically. Huge chunks of bluish-black muscle were severed, but the cut-off tissue soon flowed back into Riot's body like droplets of water.
Being carved to pieces like this finally made Riot explode with rage. Ignoring the attacks, he slammed into Lorna's protective force field like a mountain. Lorna had no intention of fighting him at close range. She controlled magnetism to fly backward, widening the distance again.
