Xandar Prime.
The Xandar Governing Council had set aside a large medical zone specifically for the wounded. The once neat and spacious building was now filled with casualties.
The Annihilation Insectoid Race's first wave of attacks had ended. Perhaps they had vented their fury, or perhaps they were adjusting their battle plan, shifting from physically exterminating intelligent life to mental contamination. There were now countless wounded soldiers; wherever one looked, soldiers were missing arms and legs.
"All right, try standing up."
Daisy removed her palm from Captain Marvel's lower abdomen. This older woman had stayed behind to cover her friends' retreat and ended up surrounded. She had barely managed to carve a bloody path out, suffering more than ten wounds across her body. Even her square face had been beaten round. Daisy had spent a full five minutes healing her before completely repairing her damaged cells.
"Your powers are really versatile... Where do you think their ultimate target is?" Captain Marvel asked softly, quietly enough that only the two of them could hear.
Daisy drew a rough star map in the sand. The Annihilation Insectoid Race was currently advancing toward Xandar Prime. After that, they would pass through the Kree Empire, the Skrull Empire, and the Shi'ar Empire.
Perhaps the Shi'ar believed they were the enemy's target, but Daisy knew they were overthinking it.
If the Annihilation Insectoid Race's route were drawn as a straight line, it would be clear that their target was Earth, located within Shi'ar territory.
Right now, whether it was the Xandarians, the Kree, or the Shi'ar, they were all effectively taking the bullets for humanity. Earth was too close to the depths of the universe. To reach Earth, they had to slaughter their way through all of them.
This was another piece of evidence that
