The Inheritor family had a map of the nearby factions. There were no east, west, south, or north here, but the distribution of certain unusual currents made it barely possible to identify directions in the surrounding area. Wrapped in a thick coat, headscarf, and goggles, Daisy trudged through the reddish-brown shifting sands, one foot deep and one foot shallow.
"Where the hell am I?" It felt as though a day had passed, though she had no idea how many days it had actually been. Following the map, she had skirted around a group of creatures that looked more like earthworms than snakes before arriving in this sea of sand.
She sensed something alive beneath the sand. There was neither wind nor waves nearby, yet she had personally watched a huge mass of sand and gravel get propelled into the sky by invisible energy. No matter how closely she looked, however, she could not see anything below it.
There seemed to be a massive super-creature hiding beneath the ground, one born with the ability to turn invisible. It looked to be several thousand meters long, but she knew nothing else about it. Who knew what kind of freakish thing had come from some parallel dimension? Better keep going around it.
By the local method of timekeeping, Daisy had wandered through the Superflow World for two cycles. On Earth, that was probably three or four days.
