Ch. 284Audience with the Holy Spirit Patriarch Tang San
Xuan Zi allowed Ye Xishui, Long Xiaoyao, Zhongli Wu, and the Holy Spirit Cult to enter Shrek City to honor Mu En. At Tang San’s statue, the cultists claimed him as their patriarch and argued that their history made the Holy Spirit Cult and Shrek partners in spreading faith in the Sea God.
- Xuan Zi granted Ye Xishui and the others permission to enter Shrek City, and Ye Xishui vowed that the cult would never harm the city Mu En had loved.
- Tang Ya knelt before Tang San’s statue and introduced herself as the Tang Sect master, a branch of the Holy Spirit Cult, before paying respects to its ancestor.
- Ye Xishui led the cultists in declaring Tang San the Holy Spirit Cult’s patriarch, prompting Niu Tian, Tai Tan, and Shrek’s representatives to object.
- Zhongli Wu claimed Tang San had freed the cult’s ancestors by destroying Slaughter City and Spirit Hall, and Ye Xishui argued that anyone could worship the Sea God.
- Ye Xishui pointed out that the Holy Spirit Cult had never threatened Shrek’s foundations and had survived Shrek’s purges, while Zhongli Wu concluded that the cult and Shrek were one family serving complementary roles.
