Ch. 21Demon Court Makes Its Move, Besieging Hongyun

Jing Chu stayed at Wuzhuang Temple and witnessed the Demon Court attack Hongyun for his Primordial Purple Qi. As Zhen Yuanzi struggled to protect Hongyun, Dijun and Kunpeng pressed their assault, and Dijun’s Solar True Fire burned Hongyun.

  • A Daoist child welcomed Jing Chu into Wuzhuang Temple and presented him with spiritual roots and three Ginseng Fruits, one of which Jing Chu ate.
  • After several days, Jing Chu sensed a distant battle and recognized Donghuang Taiyi’s Chaos Bell.
  • Dijun and Kunpeng demanded that Hongyun hand over his Primordial Purple Qi, while Zhen Yuanzi vowed to defend him.

  • Dijun froze space and time with the River Chart and Luo Script, then attacked Hongyun with Solar True Fire.

Ch. 22Hongyun's Fall, The One that Escaped

Hongyun sacrificed the Primordial Purple Qi by casting it into a spatial rift, then appeared to die at Dijun’s hands. Jing Chu found Hongyun’s hidden Primordial Spirit inside the Nine-Nine Red Cloud Soul-Dispelling Gourd, leaving Hongyun alive but gravely weakened.

  • Hongyun pulled the Primordial Purple Qi from his Primordial Spirit and threw it into a spatial rift, denying Dijun, Donghuang Taiyi, and Kunpeng the chance to claim it.
  • Dijun killed Hongyun, then left with Donghuang Taiyi to search for the Primordial Purple Qi; Kunpeng escaped after Hongyun’s gourd lost control of the Soul-Scattering Sand.
  • Zhen Yuanzi sensed Hongyun’s lingering aura and prepared to pursue it.
  • Jing Chu caught the Nine-Nine Red Cloud Soul-Dispelling Gourd near Wuzhuang Temple and discovered Hongyun’s weakened Primordial Spirit hidden inside.
  • Hongyun emerged before Jing Chu, recognized him as a disciple of Tongtian, and apologized for failing to repay his karma.

Ch. 23A Misperception—Was I a Third Wheel?

Jing Chu helped the weakened Hongyun reunite with Zhen Yuanzi, who planned to take him back to Wuzhuang Temple to recover. Jing Chu declined to join them and departed for Wuyi Mountain, while Hongyun and Zhen Yuanzi reaffirmed their bond as sworn friends.

  • Zhen Yuanzi arrived and reunited with the gravely weakened Hongyun, who regretted that his greed for the Primordial Purple Qi had dragged his friend into danger.
  • Jing Chu urged Zhen Yuanzi to take Hongyun to Wuzhuang Temple, where the Ginseng Fruit Tree could help his Primordial Spirit recover.
  • Zhen Yuanzi invited Jing Chu to Wuzhuang Temple and gave him more than ten Ginseng Fruits, but Jing Chu declined and set off for Wuyi Mountain.
  • Hongyun praised Jing Chu's character, and Zhen Yuanzi carried Hongyun toward Wuzhuang Temple as Hongyun called him his sworn friend.

Ch. 24Breaking the Formation to Seize Treasure, an Assassination from the Shadows

Jing Chu broke the innate formation on Wuyi Mountain and found the Wuyi Mountain Red Robe Tea Tree and the Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin, but a Nine-Headed Bird demon god attacked him. Jing Chu claimed both treasures and prepared to fight the demon god, whose killing intent was being purified by Jing Chu's Purifying World White Lotus.

  • Jing Chu searched Wuyi Mountain for a thousand years before finding and breaking its hidden innate grand formation with the Purple Lightning Hammer.
  • Jing Chu discovered the Wuyi Mountain Red Robe Tea Tree and began to collect it, then struck a demon god who attacked him from behind.
  • Jing Chu stored the tea tree and seized the Treasure-Dropping Copper Coin as it flew away from the exposed treasure site.
  • The Nine-Headed Bird demon god demanded that Jing Chu surrender the copper coin, while Jing Chu mocked its strength and refused.
  • Jing Chu manifested the Purifying World White Lotus, which purified the Nine-Headed Bird's killing intent as the two prepared to fight.
