Background / History
Green Mountain Town
The owner of Myriad Medicine Pavilion brought Xiao Yi Xian to Green Mountain Town when she was approximately eight or nine years old. Her knowledge of herbs used for injuries, bruising, and blood stasis, together with her kindness, earned her the name “Xiao Yi Xian” among the townspeople 25.
She knew Xiao Yao during childhood and later recognized him when he returned to a medicine shop with Xiao Yan. During a subsequent herb-gathering expedition, she slipped away to a cliff near a hidden cave. When Xiao Yao questioned her, she attempted to incapacitate him with sleeping powder, but failed. After recognizing his concealed identity, she forgave him while warning him not to deceive her again 82 85 86 113.
The two explored the cave and collected medicinal herbs. Before parting, Xiao Yao gave her a soul jade fragment that could summon his help, while she gave him medicinal powder for self-defense. She initially trusted Myriad Medicine Pavilion and the favors owed to her by other mercenary leaders to deter the Wolf Head Mercenary Group 89 91.
Life in the Hidden Valley
Xiao Yao later found her confined under guard in a manor. She had not contacted him because she feared disturbing his breakthrough and was preparing medicinal powder to help herself escape. After he destroyed the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, they departed on Blue Eagle and settled together in a secluded valley rich in herbs and natural energy 104 106.
Their companionship developed into romance through shared meals, evenings together, and a dance accompanied by Xiao Yao’s flute. Her fear of becoming a dangerous poison master remained a source of distress. After she overdosed on poison while cultivating, Xiao Yao revealed that he knew about her constitution and showed her the Poison Pill Method, which offered a means of controlling it 107 110 112 113.
Xiao Yao also gave her a poison-qi cultivation method. They shared their first kiss, and she reaffirmed her promise to accompany him until he went to Jia Nan Academy 115 117 118.
Travel and Meeting the Xiao Family
Xiao Yi Xian accompanied Xiao Yao toward the Tagore Desert, helped care for Little Zilin, and met his elder brothers, Xiao Ding and Xiao Li. Learning about his attachment to Xun Er unsettled her, but she confessed that she would accept other women beside him provided she retained a place in his heart 120 128 129.
She later visited Wutan City with Xiao Yao and Qing Lin. Nervous about his family’s approval, she was reassured by Xiao Zhan, who offered to defend her if his son treated her badly 137 138.
Separation and the Cloud Empire
Xiao Yi Xian parted from Xiao Yao at the Cloud Empire to pursue poison cultivation. He provided protective equipment and shared control of a Dou Emperor puppet before their farewell kiss. Although she left, she privately admitted that she would have accompanied him to Jia Nan Academy had he asked her to stay 145 146.
In the Cloud Empire, she established a bamboo cottage and treated sick and injured villagers without charge. Poison Fang Valley interpreted her medical successes as evidence of a valuable antidote scripture and attempted to abduct her. When its attackers poisoned the villagers, her Woeful Poison Body erupted, killing the invading disciples and their Dou Ling elder. The villagers’ subsequent fear shattered her hope of building a peaceful life among them 458.
Heavenly Poison Woman and the Toxic Sect
Her pursuit of the Thousand Poisons Origin brought her into conflict with the Poison Sect. Its members coveted both her cultivation method and her constitution, hoping to exploit her poison for their own advancement. During their attempt to trap her, her puppet shattered the Thousand Poisons Demon-Sealing Formation, but a hidden Shadow Poison Guard elder intervened 453 454 456.
After retreating to a cave, she healed her injuries and spent six months refining the remaining Thousand Poisons Origin. Having reached Dou Emperor, she devastated the Poison Sect and became widely feared as the “Heavenly Poison Woman.” She spared surviving outer disciples who had not personally attacked her 458 459.
She then founded the Toxic Sect in place of the Poison Sect, forbidding its members from harming innocents, refining living people into medicinal catalysts, or using poison to bully the weak 460.
Appearance
- Face and complexion: Delicate features, fair skin, and an ethereal appearance associated with her identity as a healer 104 458.
- Hair and eyes: Dark hair, dark eyes, and long eyelashes 85 116.
- Clothing: Wears a white gown in her manor; while gathering herbs in the valley, she ties a light-green cloth scarf around her head 104 107.
- Constitution marker: The Woeful Poison Body is identified by a faint seven-colored line on the lower abdomen that grows as toxins accumulate 113.
- Poison manifestations: Her face develops a seven-colored hue after excessive poison consumption; her eyes turn gray-black during her constitution’s violent eruption 112 458.
Personality
Xiao Yi Xian is compassionate but resourceful rather than helpless. Her medical reputation rests on helping others, yet she also uses sleeping powder, prepares slow-acting poison, and devises ways to escape confinement. She values honesty in friendship and firmly objects when Xiao Yao hides his identity from her 25 85 86 104.
Her constitution makes her afraid of rejection and of accidentally harming those close to her. With Xiao Yao, she is affectionate, teasing, and sometimes proud, but openly expresses her need for reassurance. The cruelty she encounters in the Cloud Empire makes her colder toward enemies without erasing her restraint: she spares uninvolved disciples and builds explicit protections for innocents into her sect’s rules 109 113 129 459 460.
Abilities & Skills

- Carefully harvests valuable medicinal plants and knows secluded locations rich in herbs and cultivation energy 89 106.
- Prepares medicinal powders, slow-acting poison, and an antidote that protects against the poison used in her room 91 104.
- Treats sick and injured villagers for free; her success against poisons attracts Poison Fang Valley’s attention 458.
Woeful Poison Body
A rare constitution that allows her to increase cultivation by consuming and refining poison 113.
- Rapid growth: Converts poison into cultivation resources, allowing her to advance from Dou Zhe to Battle Master within a month 134.

- Offensive power: Produces corrosive poisonous mist and radiance capable of destroying vegetation, dissolving bodies, and corroding stone 458 459.
- Limits: Excessive consumption can overwhelm her. Accumulated toxins cause agonizing internal corrosion, and an uncontrolled eruption threatens surrounding life 113 459.
Poison Pill Method
A proposed method of controlling, rather than removing, the Woeful Poison Body by concentrating its accumulated toxins into an internal Poison Pill 113.
- Requires three Heavenly Flames, the magic core of a seventh-tier Heavenly Poison Scorpion Dragon Beast, and Bodhi Transformation Saliva 113.
- Xiao Yao obtains Bodhi Transformation Saliva and identifies the Central Plains as the place to seek the remaining magic core 114.
- The provided chapters do not document Xiao Yi Xian successfully forming the Poison Pill.

- Poison-qi cultivation method: Receives a purple scroll tailored to her constitution from Xiao Yao; the method is described as Heaven Tier 115 116.
